Kaneka sama has noticed your ire and shares it in return. I'd be careful Kakita-san, he is not one would wish to have as an enemy.

Kaneka sama has noticed your ire and shares it in return. I'd be careful Kakita-san, he is not one would wish to have as an enemy. It wasn't me who started it. All I did was saying at court that I think to move his army without the emperor's blessing is not wise, that he took this as an insult or something was his decision. To later exclude a daimyo who supported him all the time, despite feeling that he should have waited, from planing the battle was an insult to me. So he was the one who wanted me as an enemy, not the other way around. I treat him now just in kind. And I do not fear someone who acts like a spoiled child which decides not to play with others just because they have different opinions (only to listen to people who tell one what he wants to hear is a terrible idea, but so is the shogun now characterised).

I can totally disagree with the Shogun whenever I want, Kenshi. He doesn't surround himself with yes-men, he just surrounds himself with people that he trusts, which is much different than what you're saying. You're here, still slandering his name. You must have a lot of slander stocked up..

You must have a lot of slander stocked up.. If would be that great a man he would not give a damn about what courtiers talk. Instead he consider every one who objected as his enemy regardless of reason. Only men who can't stand other opinions than their own act like that. I just speak the truth, and if he thinks that is slander he should show up like a man and challenge me to a duel. Kaneka sama has noticed your ire and shares it in return. Bring it on, Kaneka! ;D Chagatai and Kanaka were friends before Chagatai started his taking the throne thing. Which reminds me, Kanaka does his battle planing not at Shiro Moto were the Khan could attend, instead he does it before he arrives there. In my opinion that is an insult to the unicorn...

Kenshi, you're just looking for a reason to try and make Kaneka look bad.
If someone spoke against a higher-up Crane, like a Daimyo or your Champion, you would not want them in your battle party, either. Even if they also supported you, I doubt very much they would trust them.

If someone spoke against a higher-up Crane, like a Daimyo or your Champion, you would not want them in your battle party, either. Even if they also supported you, I doubt very much they would trust them. Depends, I would at least talk with the one about why he was against the Crane. Maybe he has a point. And even if someone make a mistake, I would give most people at least one second chance (especially if they are supportive otherwise, like having gained a few favours). When I had to plan the security of Rokugan, I would put my personal feelings entirely aside, and accept the help of everyone who leads troops into the battle. I react just on how Kaneka is portrait in the game. Every thing I say is true. So why should I stop? If I would change my disliking for the NPC now, because you tell me I am overreacting (which might be also true), than it would be a kind of metagame thinking (which you consider always as a bad thing). Not only the things player characters do should have consequences, NPCs are in the same boot. If I as a GM don't want players to act against a certain NPC, I do not encourage them by giving this NPC as an enemy to the players. Newton once said action equals reaction, so if you push expect some resistance. Still I am open to change my mind again, but at moment the shogun doesn't act like he deserved any respect (respect is something one as to earn, and Kanaka's introduction into the game was a little weak).

Kenshi, in my opinion my friend, you just need to learn when to stop. You're..really going at it extremely hard. I've tried to show you a different point of view than what only you are seeing, but that hasn't worked, so I'm going to stop trying.
Yes, you are definitely over reacting, especially when you get 3-5 paragraphs a post compared to our one. You're..really just being excessive here. So just uh, chillax. I'll stop trying to show you something different and you can stop badmouthing an NPC.
Oh, but one more thing. You're NOT GM here. You're not the Story Teller. You're not in control. Basically, Jay's word is law. He knows what's he's doing. Pretty much all of the board says so. I feel like you're kind of rubbing it in people's faces with you saying "If I were GM" sort of thing. Just drop it.

I've tried to show you a different point of view than what only you are seeing, but that hasn't worked, so I'm going to stop trying. Only because I do not follow your advise you did not have to stop trying (maybe there is a reason out there that can still change my mind). I myself think it is beautiful that not all humans have the same opinions, nevertheless we can always talk about how we see things. Yes, you are definitely over reacting, especially when you get 3-5 paragraphs a post compared to our one. You're..really just being excessive here. So just uh, chillax. I'll stop trying to show you something different and you can stop badmouthing an NPC. I am sure I will calm down in time (actually I am very calm already). But my opinion how Kaneka was implemented so far will not change. And maybe pointing out about this makes something like that not happen too soon again. I believe it is always good to talk about things one don't like, so that compromises can be found. Just swallowing up all things leads only to frustration which ruins the fun our hobby should be. GMs make mistakes, only because someone is a GM doesn't mean he makes just good decisions. I point out that certain things could have been differently. And of course I do that from a point as a GM, because I do that for almost two decades now, still I know that I am here just a player. But I think that players should always have a say too in how the things play out (roleplaying is after all a social game that is played together). So, players are always storytellers as well (if they are not, they sit in the cinema and watching just a movie, nothing more). But, I understand that it can feel offensive when I say so often how I as a GM would do things, so I will try to find other ways to say my opinion on things (hopefully better ways).

Thank you, Kenshi, for acknowledging that last bit in your last post. If anything, that has been what has bugged me the most. In all things I try to see how my words will affect the creator of the artwork in mind. In this case Jay and Alison's work on EE. There are ways to show more respect for the creators of such a fantastic product. We all agree that this is a fantastic product, and that is due to the soul that Jay and Alison give this game. We may think that certain things can work better, I for one have some issues with starting class skill sets, but all in all this is still a game we all really enjoy. Setsuro even went through the painstaking process of setting up these forums for us to use!

Thanks to whomever!
Also: where do I go to see if I have a personal message?

You'll be able to find your personal messages on the bottom right of the main screen. Underneath your Clan's private forums is the box with your mailbox. It shows how many you have in your box and how many new.
Sometimes wish it was more apparent, but there it is.
