Togashi Fumi was lost in her thoughts as she made her way toward the gates of the High House of Light. So much so that she nearly bumped into one of her daimyo. She bowed quickly, while attempting to calm her heart and mind. My apologies Sama, I have received an invitation which has caused me to lose focus and I was just now heading to investigate. It seems that a new shrine has been founded on the Dragon's Heart Plain near the ruins of Shiro Chuda, and it is wished that some of our order might come for prayer and instruction. It is said that sometimes light may come from an unexpected direction, is this not so?ooc: As this takes place relatively close to Dragon lands, and monks in particular are involved, we thought the Dragon might be interested in this rokuganee.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=spihq&action=display&thread=1241 thread.

The Kitsuki daimyo turned her head to the side with a frown, inspecting the monk. Her yojimbo, a small woman, remained where she was but the young daimyo patted the air a couple of times to make sure she knew everything was fine "Certainly. Yet sometimes it is also easiest to hide in the light while others fearfully look to the darkness. See that you keep your eyes on both... as well as ahead of you Togashi-san". With that she dipped her head respectfully, offering a brief and disarming smile before she began to move ahead in the direction the Togashi had come from.
Another mention of a shrine in the cursed lands. Perhaps it had been acceptable for her to send a small Kitsuki group to investigate and meet formally with whoever had set it up. She had thought it most likely a waste of time. If it was true, then she would be interested in who was running it and if anyone was acting as a patron. Pinning that thought in her mind for the eventual report she would receive her mind moved on to another topic as it was prone to. Time was proving to be, for what felt like her whole life now, a very precious commodity she had very little of. The report of Toku being killed in the fighting at the Capital was slightly concerning her, since the report mentioned one of her kin in particular being responsible, but on the other hand she was reassurred that the majority of those killed were new Toku, formerly ronin. The new Monkey Champion had been wise to start a large recruitment drive again...

Togashi Fumi bowed deeply. Hai, Kitsuki-sama. I shall be guided by your wisdom. The young monk then turned back to the road, determined to remain focused on it until she had reached her destination.
ooc: Just to make sure, you do know that this is about about the ruins on the border of the Dragon's Heart Plain, which is in the southern-most portion of Ox territory and near both Dragon and Phoenix lands right?

(ooc: Am aware of the location. Hime considers the area cursed as do many. All the talk of ghosts and what not. The Ox authority in the area is enough that the Kitsuki being sent there will merely be "travelling through" rather than investigating the Ox's land. That would be mighty improper... with that I have nothing else to add to this rp until something actually useful happens. Ta ta for now!)
Miles away where the land became flat yet jagged peaks loomed on the horizon, five men rode thoughtfully. Outwardly they were seeking travel to some of the northern Phoenix territories. Inwardly they would be crossing a land long rumoured to harbour those who still resented their death and worse spirits besides. They had purposefully planned the trip so that they would arrive during the daylight hours, their leader - a robust man in his later years - unwilling to tempt fate by travelling at night. One or two rumours of evil sightings at night would be one thing but the Dragon kept detailed records of some of the many reports of things that were "seen" or "heard" there. They were each difficult to believe but the sheer volume...? The weather was making progress difficult though. A storm was kicking up and it would delay them if it became severe. Jinzo looked up, tasting the air and observing the clouds. He suspected that it would get worse before it got better...

As the weather worsened and the Dragon investigators began to look for some small shelter in which to escape the building storm, a small light bobbed in the distance. Warily, and with hands to their blades, they watched as the light approached slowly, eventually revealing what appeared to be a nondescript monk of one of the shinseistic orders, holding a lantern in one hand and his jingasa on his head with the other. The monk smiled up at them as he drew closer. This is no night for riding samas. Please, follow me. Shelter is not far! With that he turned and, with the Dragon samurai following warily, began to trek back the way he had come. ooc: This thread is done on this forum, but continues in the Spider forums at rokuganee.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=spihq&action=display&thread=1241
