~Apologies for the delay~
"Thank you Matsu-Sama."
He then considered for a moment the question put back to him.
"Akodo-sama, I do not yet know. It is the source of my pilgrimage. As a Monkey, I know my sword must serve society, be carried with dignity befitting my ancestors, and always be ready to seek the blood of Jigoku, as it is the enemy of all. Bushido is the way of the warrior. Thus it is my way."
Noticing his Clansmen's arrival with well concealed happiness. He performs what might be recognizable as a bow, obviously still acquainting himself to mounted travel.
"Kosta-sama, the wisdom of the Lion has been shared with generosity, I only hope that I might put it to good use."

Listening to the last words of his clan-mate he loughs loudly,a sincere loud lough not meant to offend.
"My fellow Monkey samurai, I am sure that the Lion clan has many scholars that would be able to share wisdom with us. But the greatest wisdom the Lion clan has to offer is in the heat of battle and the moments you have to perform your duty above else!
I didn't mean to offend Akodo-sama. I believe that you can give this boy a true lesson of tactics when we arrive in the battle!" He smiles and turns his head toward Matsu Mina. "And i am sure that a spar with the Lioness will give him a lesson about fury in combat!" And while he mentioning the Lioness he bows in a way to show the respect for the known rage of the Matsu family in the battle.

"Hai Kosta-sama!"
A large smile and barely controlled chuckling also threatening to escape the young Monkey.
"In these tumultuous times there will be no shortage of opportunities to put words aside and face the truest test. The Musha-Shugyo is a Warriors pilgrimage after all."
The last part he said more to himself than anyone else, the smile replaced with a more resolute visage.

Akodo Sosa smiled. "I will be happy to teach him all I can. Indeed, when we reach the battle you are both welcome to fight alongside myself and Matsu Mina-san". The Beserker nodded her head respectfully at Toku Kosta, indicated she had heard, and been pleased by, his words.
As Sosa prepared to say more, a messenger rode up, the same man he had send out a couple of days earlier. The rider bowed his head, then approached when Sosa beckoned him, speaking low so that only his commander could hear. After hearing the message, Sosa grunted in seeming acknowledgement. He returned his attention to his immediate companions.
"Matsu Mina-san. It seems we must make a slight detour, but not an unpleasant one. We shall see the walls of your home briefly." If Mina was pleased by this news, she did not show it. Sosa turned to the two samurai from the Monkey Clan.
"I wonder, Samurai-sans, if you have ever had the opportunity to sample the delights of Shiro Matsu? There has been a slight change in our destination, and though I am sure you do not wish to delay reaching The Castle of The Swift Sword, we would be honoured if you would accompany us to Shiro Matsu. I am sure you will find it a rewarding experience, and in Shouri-san's case, perhaps an educational one."
At these last words, the faint ghost of a smile appeared on Matsu Mina's lips.

He thinks a little: "Akodo-sama I always prefer to travel in the lands of an other clan with members of that clan. That way you can avoid times of strife. Only my duty as a magistrate could change that thing. And I believe that in the grand scale of a combat its better if a biger force arrive. So I am happy to follow you in your detour. Also I believe that except my young fellow clan member I can too learn a few more things from you. " He bows.

Sosa kicked his horse on, and the troop got underway again. "We gain as much knowledge in teaching as we impart. Young Shouri-san was just telling me his thoughts on what it means to be a samurai. How we must serve the Empire and honour our ancestors. How we must always be prepared to face, indeed even seek out, the forces of the Dark Kami. All very true, of course. But what say you, Kosta-san? What is it to be a samurai? What is it to be a magistrate? Are the two even different?"
Sosa awaited the reply with interest.

He thinks a little, he rarely had the chance to think about the differences between being a samurai and being a magistrate. There is if only one. " To be a samurai means to serve bushido true. I think of the kami that founded the seven great clans. The aspects that each one of them showed and taught to rokugan. These aspects are what defines bushido. I always wanted to protect the empire from any enemy. Sometimes even from itself. That is what a magistrate does. The irony is there. I believe that none is above the empire. I would gladly give my life for my lord and my emperor. But if the danger were to come from my lord then the duty i have to the empire is to stop him. Even if that means sacrificing my soul.
What i trully believe is: My life for my Lord,my soul for the Empire!"
He stares at the horizon and thinks for the devastation back home, the tainted land that would never trully heal anytime soon!
" And no matter what all the clans united must stand against the dark lord. The abomination of what we are, what the founders of the empire were! "

Sosa nodded, listening closely to the magistrates words.
"You speak great wisdom, Toku Kosta-san. I hear a lot of talk about how the minions of the Dark Lord and other denizens of the Shadowlands are our true enemy, and never would I disagree with this. Yet what concerns me is the darkness within the Empire. The readiness of so many Clans to try deny the rightful throne of the True Son of Heaven, and to stand against His Imperial Majesty's most loyal Samurai.
"The greatest battle is often against the enemy within oneself, and that, I feel, is what the Empire is facing now. The trouble, of course, is that not all our enemies have fully revealed themselves."
He looked serious for a moment, then smiled broadly and lightened his mood. "But then what worry have we when such devoted Clans as ours are steadfast and true? As long as the Empire is protected by brave souls such as yourself, Toku Kosta-san, and sees intrepid and willing young Samurai like you, Shouri-san, no foe, whichever shadow they may hide in, will stand long against us."

After a long journey (exams and being sick) they finally reached Shiro Matsu, despite the fact that he was traveling a lot it was his first time here. A strange excitement was all over him!

(Hope you are feeling better and the exams went well. Not sure if you've read it, but I have been off assisting some Crane. You are welcome to join me). Sosa and Mina stepped out of the building, having left the Crane to be seen to by the shugenja. As they left Sosa spotted Toku Kosta. He smiled and bowed. My most humble apologies, Kosta-san for leaving you so hurriedly. It seems a Crane delegation had been attacked in a cowardly ambush, but they are here now. Mina-san and I are about to try to find Daimyo Akodo. Perhaps you would like to accompany us?(Will be moving to the Shiro sano Ken Hayai [Open RP] thread. see you there? ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) )
