Tsanuri went into the corridor after Keisuke and Nanami. Unicorn girl was tensed, quite understandable taking she forgot to pass message she was sent with. Tsanuri noticed quick move with which Shinjo touched her mouth. Couldn’t be sure here, but it looked like Nanami swallowed something.
This was all weird. They were standing and staring at each other. Tsanuri managed to catch a glimpse of Nanami eyes just when Keisuke moved a little closer to her. She startled at the amount of fear and madness in young Unicorn eyes. For a second she was lost in those eyes. She sobered up only then Shinjo took out the knife. This instant she understood why Nanami was so tensed. Not important now. She knew she was late. Cold thought that maybe she’s too late appeared in her mind. She suppressed it. No time to think. Tsanuri sprung forward caugh Keisuke by his arm and pushed him backwards. To make the distance wider. Tsanuri saw Unicorn’s amazed face getting closer. As both girls used all strength they had to start moving and act the fastest they could, neither could stop in the instant. They crashed and fell down.

Keisuke had begun stepping forward and pivoting his hips at the same instant as Tsanuri stepped forward and grabbed his arm. He allowed her motion to pivot him the full 180 degrees, so now he stood next to and looking down at Tsanuri and Nanami.
Seven times he thought, to himself this makes the seventh time.
As the two struggled to get up, Keisuke wrapped his arms around Nanami's elbows, standing up and turning his entire body at the he sent Nanami flailing back down the corridor. Loosing his grip on the Nanami, Keisuke began to move even as the samurai attempted to regain her footing.
This makes seven times servant of Hantei, he took one step closer hoping to close the gap before Nanami had time to react.

Nanami hit the floor again. Ironically, this cooled her head. She leaped up, with amazing nimbleness, and when she and Keisuke were in each other’s range, she managed as much as to be in a stable position.
Shinjo’s stand reminded that of a cat. Her feet were standing firmly on the ground, only to be ready to make a dash. Her claws – the aikuchi – displayed, in front of her. In a flickering lantern light, the tip of the blade was reflecting red.
The final moments of the fight approached.
Meanwhile. “Was it really a good idea to take the message myself? Maybe I really should have passed it with kaze no kami. “ Horiuchi Yuiren took a last glimpse on the map. Toshi Ranbo should be close by now. She made it to the top of the hill and looked around. Hah! There it was. Not exactly in the right direction, and closer than it should be, but that was definitely the aim of her journey. She patted her horse. Soon they’ll be there.

When Keisuke tossed Nanami down the corridor, Tsanuri was at last able to stand up. She examined Keisuke’s clothes and movements trying to determine if he was wounded. Luckily it didn’t appear so. She observed him closing the distance to Shinjo. He shouldn’t fight on his own, but taking his mood, no matter the argument he wouldn’t back down. That is if she had time to present any argument. She wanted to move in but knew she can only distract him helping the assassin. She remained close.

Nanami was waiting for Keisuke to move. She looked at him, searching for a hint, for an opening. The moment he’d try to take his weapon out, she’d attack. But he was just standing. She changed her position a little. No response. Shinjo looked into his eyes. It was pretty dark in the corridor, so can she be sure of what she saw? How can it be? In his eyes, she saw... absence? But on the other hand, there still were no openings. How can those contraries be together?
She has had enough of waiting.
Shinjo took many things into account. His height, strength. Width of the corridor. The presence of Tsanuri. But there were at least two things she didn’t. One of those was his experience. Second was that not only she felt impatience.
A little drop of Lion’s blood broke away from the tip of the blade, as the Unicorn jumped forward. Nanami tried to make Keisuke move back and crash with Tsanuri. But it was all already a part of his plan. The sound of the drop falling has been drowned out by a noise of the body hitting the ground for a third time.

In one motion, Keisuke stepped back and to the side as he drew Shinrai blade edge pointing down he drew the sword up underneath the Unicorn's arms cutting both almost at once, and he whipped the sword around bringing the blade into a cutting across her lower back.
Defying the celestial order in deed, seven times since the siege there have been attempts made on his life and he has survived all of them. What is there left for those still fighting for the Hantei to argue.

Tsanuri stood for a moment motionless, taken aback by swiftness of his moves she never witnessed before. Lone ray of light found its way to the corridor they stood in and danced on the edge of Keisuke’s katana. Tsanuri moved quickly to check the lying Unicorn. She didn’t dare to disturb Keisuke. Blood was flowing widely staining the floor. Tsanuri crouched by the dying girl. Nanami was chucking trying to take breath. "T. - tr…a..to…r" she whispered. Her body soaked while last gasp of air abandoned her lungs. She was lying there, now nearly white with her eyes open. Dead.
Tsanuri took her eyes off Nanami’s body. Her gaze fell on cut hand still handling the knife. She frowned and moved quickly to examine it. Tip of the knife was stained with blood. She didn’t notice it earlier. She felt her heart stopped. She looked at Keisuke trying to spot any wound on him. Front of his kimono was soaked with blood. Please, let it be Shinjo blood. She rose wanting to rush to Keisuke when she felt sudden pain in the side. She touched the place and looked at her fingers. They were red with blood. Tsanuri walked quickly to Keisuke and bowed low. "Please forgive me my sudden action. Aren’t you wounded, Akodo-dono?"

Keisuke flicked the blood from Shinrai, he heard Tsanuri's voice yet it sounded like it was echoing from a great distance. Seven attepmts and they have all failed surely the fortunes turned their eyes him.
Yes Tsanuri-san I am uninjured, he drew his world back into to focus now that the thrill of battle was over. Seeing the blood on her side Keisuke moved to Tsanuri, You however are not let us get you fixed up. he took a piece of silk from inside his kimono and placed it in Tsanuri's hand, keep pressure on that wound. Now Lion guards were starting to fill the hall way. Keisuke turned and bowed to the fallen Unicorn. You men see to to it that this samurai is given the funeral rights and have her processions delivered to the Unicorn.
Forgive my forwardness Tsanuri, Keisuke pulled the sageo from his wakizashi and used it tie around her waist and apply pressure to the wound. Now one more forgiveness if you please. he wrapped his arm around Tsanuri and drew her in close so she need not step with her full weight on her wounded side.

Uninjured. Hearing that Tsanuri sighted with relief. She realized she was holding her breath. Luckily nothing bad happened. This time. But it can happen again. And what if then luck was not on their side?
Tsanuri didn't understand what Keisuke intended to do until he grabbed her. She blushed feeling awkward and tried to stand in a way to burden him as little as possible. 'Thank you my lord, but it's nothing serious. It just bleeds, that’s all.' She remained standing near him for another moment before she delicately moved away. She stood before him and bowed shallowly. 'If I may, my lord. Situation like this shouldn't have happened. An unknown person shouldn't be allowed to your presence with any kind of weapon by his side' she took a deep breath.'May I ask you to consider taking yojimbo, Akodo-dono?'

Keisuke nodded in acknowledgment of her bow, and took a step back.
A yojimbo, I do not care for such a burden. He beckoned down the corridor, in the direction of those who could see to her wound. To take a yojimbo now, would be a sign of weakness, to those who wish me harm it would say "here is a man who fears for his life". Keisuke rested his hand on Shinrai taping the tsuka with his fingers, now is not the time to run and hide but face these challenges openly.

Tsanuri followed Keisuke. She didn't answer to his words, as there was nothing for her to say. He made a decision so all she could do was to follow it. And try to tighten security on her own. Thanks the Kami, they will leave Toshi Ranbo soon.
'I will look for people to join the mar...' She stopped abruptly and looked at Keisuke. 'Do you still intend to go, Akodo-dono? Taken the situation, the message could be false.'

With out thinking Keisuke responded, To many thing have been set in motion now Tsanuri-san for this to stop now. He shock his head, I want to be by our Emperor's side he he takes the field against the Emerald Champion.
His pace quickened now before he remembered that Tsanuri was injured. With a feral edge to his voice, With the Scorpion marching southward, our troops at Shiro no Matsu need to be deployed. And rather than issue orders from afar, I wish to take to the field personally. He paused waiting for Tsanuri to catch up with him.

Tsanuri sped up to catch up with Keisuke. Then I will go at once. She stopped before Keisuke. Is there anything else you want me to do, Akodo-dono?

No, that is all for now. If any one wishes to find me I shall be in the imperial armories. There is a daisho that needs be returned the Crane before we leave. I wish to see to this task personally. Looking down at his hands he flexed his fingers then balled them into fists and opened them again. Though I will need to clean up first. Tuning his hands over, in almost a whispering tone, They are never as clean now as they once were.

It was all weird, thought the guards. This young woman claims to be a Unicorn Clan messenger. - What is it? – asked Yuiren – you said there already was a messenger of my Clan. But I thought it is a common practice to send the same message in a few ways. At least, in Unicorn Clan. It’s pretty clever, since you never know what can happen on the way.
That was true. But still there was something not right with this so-called envoy. Her clothing was far too fine. What more, it was dry, even though the rain was drizzling for hours. Also, however you look at it, an envoy usually travels alone, and this one is accompanied by a servant. It was hard to tell - was it just weird, or was it suspicious. On the other hand, they didn’t find any appreciable reason not to let her in. - m’lady, I think you should show a letter with the seal. – said the servant girl, handing her a wooden box. - of course, you are right, thank you, Inko. Yuiren opened the box and showed the letter. With the seal, the same as the one before, their doubts were gone. Shugenja has passed the palace gates. Now, only to find Akodo Daimyo... (How would she know the servants were already on the move) She left the horses in care of her servant and started moving towards the closest buildings, intending to ask for directions.
