“You might not have problems with the crab, but I know a few Crab that would try to kill me on sight for the blessings I carry. How are you going to guaranty my safety?” looking at the ground “I have just one very important question..…..What route would are we going by then?”
The Keeper was displeased that they could not go by boat, but theirs other ways to bring the caravan and the people to the city of the lost, hopefully they will have books on their magic and arts. Maybe he could convince them to join the Spider freely and if that douse not work their blood, their bones, and their bodies will work just fine as well. But im going to have to ask and see if I can get some of ther contacts in ther homeland. For the reason I did not lie to him was to get in touch with the jackals and bring some in and work with the Spider.
Ooc, Don’t worry about it. Just hope you get better soon.

Quarim could read the body language of Keeper. He was up to something. Quarim waited a moment to see if Mitsuru found anything. Nothing from the Phoenix. So either Keeper was as good at lying as Quarim, or he was choosing his words carefully.
We have the backing of the Jade Magistrates to find Yoee. You will be our guide. Not even the Crab will go against the Jade Magistrates. You will be safe.
As to our route. Well the Scorpion are marching south to attack the Crab. We will avoid them of course. So I can not say for certain. It will depend on how the Scorpion army moves.

“when do we leave? And when do you let me out of the shackles?”
The Keeper was getting tired of the shackles and really wanted to stand and stretch his legs. Hopefully the plan can begin soon. Then everything will all depend on the timing and what I can learn first.

"Well...those are simple to answer. First, soon. And second, significantly less soon. You need to understand that you are still a prisoner. I'm not going to be responsible for letting a Spider loose in the Empire."
I released my spell and let out a long relieved sigh. I was already quite tired from holding just the one spell. Getting up I addressed Kuwarimu, "If there's nothing else, I should go begin planning our vacation."
I bowed sardonically to the Spider, "I trust these accommodations will meet your expectations."
I rolled up my mat and, taking it under my arm, exited the room. On my way out I instructed the guard that the prisoner was to be kept fit for travel but otherwise to stay within the confines of jade dusted precautions. Then I headed out of the confining dungeons to go gather a pile of forms from the magisterial offices to send a prisoner from the safety of the north of Crane Provinces all the way to the Shadowlands.
((OOC: I shall be all too happy to make a small thread for prepping for the departure before we actually leave.))

“So now that the little birdie is gone is there anything else you would like to talk to me about. Since it is just the two of us? Or are do you have nothing more to say to me?” The Keeper tilted his head “there are a few matters of business that I was hoping to talk with you about. first and foremost I was hoping that our two people could have an alliance, I purposes that on our trip to the Shadowlands we make an treaty. Second would it be ok with you if I purchased items from your caravan. Third and finely I was wondering what exactly you want from this spider you are looking for? It seems like a lot of trouble to track this one spider down, why go thru all this trouble to find this guy.”
Let’s see if this Gaijin is willing to play this game without his safety net.

Quarim had turned to leave as well but when Keeper spoke he turned and smiled.
I am always willing to trade. Our business with Yoee is ours alone. But as for a treaty, what do propose? What more is needed than simple trading?

“Thank you for allowing me to trade with the people in your caravan.” The keeper had to pause for a moment to get his words right. “Well with a treaty between the Spider and your people in the Burning Sands, I’m sure we could make a beneficial deal for both our people. An alliance for both our people in all sorts of manners including and just listing a few; in matters of trade, magic, art, intelligence, knowledge and just plan manpower, and I’m sure that there are things in your homeland that you might need an little extra help with. Diplomatically and politically it would be a very good move on both our people’s parts. Unlike the Mantis that you have had to deal with in matters of trade we will not try to take advantage of you, we will deal with our trade evenly. We could help you when you’re having a disagreement with some of the other clans, give your diplomats Intel that will help them in their inner dealings with the people of this land. Just think of all the political power you would gain by an alliance with us. Not to mention with us you all so have access to the Goblins tribes, your people could do business with. ”

Quarim considered for a moment the implications of a treaty with the Spider. If done correctly it would work greatly in his favor. He could have the Spider on their side if the Sultan decided to launch an attack on Rokugan. Alternatively he could always make the treaty basically impenitent and powerless so the Spider could gain nothing. And the Kolat would love to be able to track important Tainted and remove them from time to time.
I will have my people draw up a draft. We will work out the details as we travel. Is that all?

“Yes, that is all. I hope you enjoy the rest of you time before we go on this adventure. I look forward to negotiating with you on the trip.”
Now that the treaty was being set up all The Keeper had to do was wait for the plans to be set. With this treaty in place it will allow the Spider access to the Burning Sands, and with that the Spider can all so infiltrate them as wall. Once certain Jackals are identified they will be offered a place in within the Spider. Locate their prisons, their library’s, their graveyards and various other supplies that the spider could use. Hire some bandits to attack bring it to one of the spider drop off points and smuggle it back to the city, this will allow more blood and bodies for the Chuda ‘s magic and anyone else that’s interested in items and Intel from the Burning Sands.
