This post will be a "catch up" post, sort of long, maybe a little monologue-ish but it gets things moving towards the desired progression of things, and tidies up this section of the story, since I don't have a Mantis "volunteer".
If Thrak would like to post about his new found "stuff" afterwards, that's fine, but I would assume this post should bring this intro close to an end, and from here, things should start to get interesting.

In the Dreamscape, searching for Yoritomo Daisuke
Shoju wandered the dreamscape, looking for the path to the Yoritomo. He quickly realized that he was certainly not as adept as Yun. While he walked, he recounted the conversation with Mai, in amusement. She was so completely blinded by Bushido, Shoju mused.
Soon, Shoju found himself on the path to the Yoritomo's dreams. There was a chaotic storm raging throughout the dream, and Shoju found himself on the deck of a great Mantis vessel, a man was screaming orders.
"BRING US IN RANGE TO BOARD! NO SURVIVORS WILL BE LEFT THIS DAY!"
Shoju stood on the deck of the ship watching the Young Yoritomo captain, as he was the first to leap from this vessel to the other, cutting down... kinsmen as he lept. This ship was assaulting another Mantis Ship. The sound of battle was thick. Shoju watched while the Young Yoritomo Captain and his crew decimated their prey.
As the violence ceded, The young Yoritomo caught sight of Shoju standing on the deck of his ship. " You there! What business do you have here!? [/b]"
Shoju's garments were soaked through, but they still provided him with cover for his features. He kept his head bowed, and spoke. "Are you Yoritomo Daisuke?" his voice deep, and ominous, it was certainly out of place in this dream.
The Captain returned to his deck, and walked in front of the hooded figure. "I am. Who are you? I'd answer quickly before You join the rest who oppose the might of the Mantis."
Shoju chuckled. it was obvious that the Yoritomo hadn't made the distinction that this was an invasion of his dream. "I am but one who has been made aware of your..... ambition, and the lengths that you would go to see it fullfilled. Slaughtering a crew of your own, even in a dream is a steep price to agree to." Shoju's voice was pleasant, his head still bowed, revealing nothing to the man.
The Yoritomo nodded. "This civil war has caused strife amongst every clan. The Mantis are no exception. I will unite the clan once more, or destroy those refuse.[/b]"
Shoju laughed, "And how is that working out for you?"
The Yoritomo clenched his fists. "I have yet to act. My dreams... Every dream shows the destruction of another group of Mantis. No one willing to see past the madness. Past the lies. Past the obvious truth."
Shoju shrugged his shoulders, and asked "And what, is this obvious truth."
"The Civil War has shown the evil in us all. The empire has lied to itself, and claimed honor and duty as reasons. [/color]" Daisuke shook his head. "Honor, Duty, Sincerity, It doesn't matter. We have forsaken their true meanings."
That was the opening that Shoju needed. He smiled, and raised his head, his eyes shining under the hood. "Perhaps, I'm in a position to help you, or you to help me. I too see the failings of the Empire, and their false claims. What if, I could give you the.... opportunity to right it? What if you could be one of the... saviors of the empire? Would you meet me? Would you listen to my proposal? Would you at least... contemplate what I offer? "
The Yoritomo was caught off guard. the eyes, the voice, the hood, it was unsettling. But the words... The idea that he could right the wrongs of the empire. That he could save it from itself.... Well, that was a prospect that would lead to only more power. " Very well. I will meet you in Tokigogachu. How soon can we meet?[/b]"
Shoju chuckled. "Your ambition is Great. Yoritomo Daisuke. I will meet you in Tokigogachu in 3 days time." As he finished speaking, a fog rolled onto the deck of the boat, and Shoju began to dissipate into it.
Daisuke yelled " Wait! I don't even know your name! How will I find you!"
Shoju's voice responded. " I will find you.
The Physical Realm, As Shoju returns from the Dream realm.
The two bakemono stood staring at the Being in meditation on the floor. They knew disturbing him would be death. But not disturbing him could likely be death from the band of Ogres who had arrived.
"You do it! I no want to be ripped apart!"
Nuh uh! I take my chances with the ogre!
As Shoju returned to his physical form, he could hear their quiet bickering at the door. He smiled. Bakemono were good for two things. Disposable troops, and a good laugh. He stood, straightened himself, and spoke to them. " Tell our guests I will be with them shortly."
The bakemono froze in fear at the sound of his voice, and then sprang into action glad that they would not meet their end this morning. Shoju prepared himself, in a fresh Kimono, leaving his face and head exposed. He placed the No-Dachi in its place on his back, and headed towards the court. Along the way, he nabbed a Bakemono, and sent it after Otsu.
As Shoju entered the court room, he quipped Pardon my tardiness, I....
The muscular Ogres turned and glared at him. You send for us and then keep us waiting! What makes you think I wont snap you.... The ogre's voice trails off as it realizes that the being in front of him is not the human he had heard stories of. Wha... What are you?
Shoju smiled at the ogre, and spoke plainly. I was a man. I have been gifted many things by one who believes in me. I apologize for keeping you waiting... I was attending to another matter. Please. Make yourself.... comfortable. Shoju had paused while he contemplated, how would an ogre make itself comfortable?
The ogres relaxed their shoulders, and the one who had lashed out at first stood forward. I am Monruk, Leader of many ogres. We came, because we were told that this would be a great chance for us to strike back at the Humans.
Bakemono scurried around as Shoju thought for a moment. Indeed, this is a great chance to strike back at the Empire of Rokugan. While your goals are far different from mine, I assure you, that our goals don't conflict. I ask you to join me, and those beings I have already assembled, and will continue to assemble. Join me, and we will take the fight to the heart of the Empire. We will strike a fatal blow against them.
The Ogre betrayed a sly grin of his own. "And what's in it for us?"
Shoju looked at him, and smiled. "Name your price."
The Ogre looked back at him. "When this is over, I'll be taking back Volturnuum from the Shadowlands, and you will help me.
"With pleasure" Shoju smiled as he said it.
