[ooc] This is the next Akunin / Ikazuchi thread for Shoju. He has made it to the mainland after creating Oni No Daisuke in the lands of the Mantis. This intro post will give some background and set the stage for picking up several PC's! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More people playing bad guys! This RP is OPEN to anyone who would find themselves in the area, as long as you understand that killing/capturing me, or the NPC's I'm using is just not going to happen at this point. I can't be an empire wide threat if I'm being thwarted. If you are interested, please PM me first, and I will add you to the list. List of people involved so far Zuere (I'm going to need a cameo or two out of you here ) Saiko Daigotsu Daisuke Daigotsu Thrakhath [/ooc] The Kobune had faired well in ferrying the three beings to the Crane lands. They docked in the dead of night, and in the morning, left the "crew" to shamble into town and create the distraction that provided their cover. It was a delightful sight to see the undead crew creating mayhem and chaos in Seawatch Castle. Who would recognize three men when there were almost two dozen undead terrorizing the peasants? The beings were into the forest on the western edge of the area when Shoju called upon the earth Kami. Into the ground they sank, and moved with a speed that Shoju had never before appreciated. The new found gifts of this existence made his gifts in previous lives seem.... petty, even shallow. Within a little more than a night's time, the Trio had found themselves outside the gates of Kyuden Tonbo. It was dangerously close to the civil war brewing in the empire, but that proved to a boon. battlefields would provide the dead, desperate men would call for help. Shoju was ready for both plans. They moved through Kyuden Tonbo in the earlier hours with ease. It was still too early for most to be awake, and the trio looked more like heavily robed shugenja or monks than anything sinister. Though they were far from human, they found that they still enjoyed some of the ammentities of a human existence. A room, with a roof over their head, and walls was among them. They found an inn tucked away in the side streets that for enough koku asked no questions, and needed no names. In there, the trio prepared.

The three beings stayed secluded in the Inn most of the day. As night began to fall upon Kyuden Tonbo, Shoju secluded himself, and began meditating. Soon, he was in a trance, and traveling the spirit realm. Yun had done well in finding The Yoritomo. Maybe now he could help him find another.

As Shoju came upon the forest, that was starkedly familiar to his last visit (something that does not often happen in the realm of dreams) it would lead him to come to the conclusion that this entire area must be Yun's slice of the realm. Something this stable would require a great deal of control, or just raw power that could forge something this big, even if the trees looked very similar to one another. He came to the same clearing that he had before, and Yun was standing over a stone basin, that was raised up to waist high.
It was wide, the entire thing big enough that a full grown man could lounge in it, and tall for such a thing. Yun had his arms bracing him up on it, looking down into the waters. He did not notice Shoju approaching this time, or at least, he had not moved to indicate such a thing.
His focus seemed entirely upon the swirling waters in the basin.

Shoju approached, wearing the trappings he had become known for, the black kimono with the blood red over coat. The hood was down, and the No-Dachi was no where to be seen. As Shoju approached, he spoke It is good to find you are making a home for youself Yun-san.
He continued walked towards him, his face holding a smile. The Yoritomo was an exquisite acquistion, I must extend my thanks for putting me in touch with him. I'm hoping, that you might have found more for me to add to my banner?
Shoju folded his arms across his chest, and took in the surroundings. It was interesting to see what Yun was capable of in this realm.

"Two actually... Oh... I have done so good this time, Shoju. These two will not... not quite serve you, but they will none-the-less further the grand scheme of things so magnificently that... Why I think any further recommendations that I make will pale in comparison."
He moved around the basin, to the other side of it, so that he was standing on the same side as Shoju, he turned to face him, but closed his eyes and placed his left hand on his head.
"Both of them have... already fallen, in a manner of speaking, one of them you know. One of them you have fought. One of them you fought against in Ryoko Owari, with... ooohh, the crane, the crane the craaane.... Mai? no, she was there but... So... ji.. ro. Yes. He fought alongside Kakita Sojiro. I've collected his dreams, but they are quite hard to put into any kind of sequence."
He was rubbing his temple with the same hand that he had placed on his head.
"But I think I have them ready. Are you ready for them? It will be a shock taking two in at the same time, but... I think you can handle it." He smiled, but there was something off about the smile. To Shoju, it felt like a calm pool of water that had a sea monster under the surface. "I -think- you can handle it... We'll see... haha... are you ready?"

Shoju thought back. The dragon? The dragon has fallen? And suddenly it made sense. He thought over and over about the events of Ryoko Owari. The words, the actions. Yes. The Dragon would be a perfect addition. "I am ready Yun-san."
Shoju stood, a little rigid. If the past was a predictor of the future, absorbing the information on two worthy of his cause could make a man buckle. He steeled himself, and waited. "Tell me Yun-san. Are they willfull?"

"Oh my yes... Quite, even. You're going to get along famously."
Yun reached out with his hands, which were spiraling with coalesced energy; and touched both hands to Shoju's temples. This time, the energy rushed in from two directions, crashed in the center and began to throb. Images of a dragon and a lion were prominent in his head. It hurt, having to deal with both of the dreams lines at once, doubly so with them being so disorganized, but after he took it all in, he came to the conclusion that at least one of the people that Yun was passing off to him was insane; and the dreams reflected this.
Yun helped Shoju stead himself and he smiled again, more warm, more friendly than before.
"You're well on your way to it Shoju. Don't stop now."
He moved back over to the basin that he had set up.
"So that is a Lion, a Dragon, and a Mantis, so far... I'll keep searching for the others."

Shoju took Yun's aid in steadying himself. When he was stable, he closed his eyes, and drank in what he could from the Dragon's dreams. "I do hope he is willing to entertain my offer. The last time we met, I injured him in battle." He spoke with hope in his voice. As the images in his mind shifted from the dragon to the lion, he grinned wildly. "This one, Oh yes, this one will be fantastic."
Shoju opened his eyes, and grinned at Yun. "Your aid is greatly appreciated." He bowed deeply to him, and turned to walk. "I believe next, I should find a Crane. Shoju began walking away into the mists of the landscape. "You aren't willing to take me up on my offer are you, Yun-san?"

"Everything that I can do with you, I am."
He raised a hand without looking back to Shoju as a signal of goodbye.

Shoju began stalking the dream realm. In his times spent here, both as human, and not, he had been able to pinpoint his destination, and follow it. The problem with the Dragon, was becoming frustrating.
As the trail began to lead off into one direction, it would cease completely, and only after walking along almost blind, would it pick back up, sometimes, doubling back upon where he had once been. The dreams of the Dragon in his mind were disjointed, showing distress, and confusion. As he focused on these dreams, he found a solid path into a mountainous forest. He grinned. Come out come out whereever you are, Dragon."

The journey to Kyuden Tonbo was brief, but arduous, as the hilly plains gave way to the mountain passes that marked the change between the Unicorn and Dragonfly lands. Though Ren seemed to have boundless endurance, the landscape forced a slower pace. Mai found much time to her own thoughts, with Tsanuri being so stoic in her demeanor. Little conversation was offered, or given, between the two women.
Mai seemed hesitant to sleep at night, preferring to take the watch during the darkest hours, and only sleeping fitfully when she did have the chance. Shadows began to appear around her eyes, but Mai's martial training seemed to be keeping her exhaustion at bay, for the moment.
Finally they reached the Dragonfly holding, small by most clan's standards, but quaint in a way that reminded Mai a little of her home in Bikami. She presented their travelling papers to a sleepy-eyed elder, and made their way to one of the village's few inns.
"There are still a few hours of daylight for our work, Tsanuri-san. Though I admit, I don't have any idea where to start looking for the materials Keisuke-sama wanted to find. Where do you think we should begin?"

As Shoju searched the dream realm, his frustration level reached a crescendo. It seemed neither man slept tonight. He began to make preparations to leave, when a familiar presence, faint, but close, wafted through the Dream Realm to him. His presence in the dream realm dissipated, and his eyes shot open.
He stood from his meditative position in the inn, and opened the doors looking door at Otsu and Daisuke. An old adversary has arrived. I believe it is time to put her down for good. Prepare yourselves.
Daisuke no Oni grinned, and Shoju nodded to him. The mental connection between the two gave Daisuke all he needed to know to spot the Shiotome.

Otsu looked up from his seat as Shoju entered, and grinned at his declaration. "I've been wondering what this body can do in a fight," he said, standing up and cracking his knuckles. "Just point the way."

Follow Me Shoju said, as he left the room.
As the walked down the hall, the lights in the inn seemed to dim. Flames lessened, lamps became noticably dimmer. As they reached the front of the inn, the innkeeper bowed, and stammered. "Is there something I can do for you samas?"
Shoju chuckled lightly, lifting his arm and allowing the heavy sleeve to fall away from his blue, clawed hand. "I believe there is." he said as he removed the hood from his head, and delighted in the horror displayed on the innkeepers face. "You can die for me."
As the hood fell away from his head, Shoju's hand shot forward and tore the innkeepers throat from his body. The innkeeper's body flailed, clawing at the gaping wound as his mind caught up to the trauma caused by the monster in front of him. As his body began to fall foward, Shoju siezed it, and walked out the front of the Inn, into the streets, where he dropped the body, the innkeeper's blood dripping from his hand.
Shoju removed the cumbersome robes, and strapped the No-Dachi on his bare back. He closed his eyes, and the sky began to darken. Thunder could be heard in the approaching clouds. As the first drops of rain began to fall, it was obvious that it wasn't a natural rain.
Come then, Shiotome. Let's finish what you started." Shoju growled as he began walking down the street away from inn.

Tsanuri took out from one of her bags a pile of clothes and started to separate them. "If there are any elixirs here that are to be used in battles, they must have arranged some transportation for it. I don't believe they would use magic, it might affect the elixirs in unpredictable way. They will be probably using carts. We need to check if there were any bigger transportations coming or leaving the town. " She laid the clothes at last. They were of low quality and looked like they were used earlier for quite some time. Tsanuri took one kosode evaluating its size, then threw it down. "Pick what you want and change, we need to go." She took a small pack from the other bag and slowly unfolded it, like if she wasn't sure what to do. She paid no attention to Mai any more.
