As a snow squall clears, a man bent down on one knee has his hands cupped on the ground. A straw hat covers his face from the drifting snow. As he rises to his feet the air shimmers around him, as if it was summer. He looks upward, toward the castle. "My feet have led me back here for a reason. I can only hope for more pleasent reasons then the last."
As he walks toward the enterance, a small patch of ground is bare of snow. Where his hands were, a small plant pushes its way toward the sky.

Yushahime respectfully takes a lower seat in the large dining room her Lord Takezo-sama has prepared and quietly joins him in his simple but hearty meal. She surveys those in the room with kind but nonetheless piercing eyes before directing her attention to the beautiful scenery outside.
Various monks and enlightened samurai seem to be gathering there and she is tempted to call an attendant to suggest collecting them all. She turns towards her Lord, not keen to overstep her authority, eagerly awaiting his next words...

In the heartlands of Rokugun the snows have melted and fallen again, in the mountians we remain the Dragon.
Some brothers have returned after long journeys, another has left the concers of this word behind, new brothers with shadowed pasts have arrived from distant lands, but still we remain the Dragon.
We are divided by the Brother's War standing apart walking our own paths, WE ARE THE DRAGON.
Today is the one year aniversiry of this, the first RP/character intro thread on the boards.

A mysterious figure treks the snow-covered path to the mountaintop. I came to this same spot a year ago, but now I am not the same anymore. The weight of a greater duty now bears down on my shoulders.
I proceed to the lone shrine and light some incense. With eyes closed I pray in reverence.
"For honor. With honor. I have remained. The Agasha. Takezo. They have abandoned. I will not. Hoshi guide me. My path is with the Dragon."
I bow three times. As Tamori daimyo, I greet and nod to everyone who has arrived before descending down again.
Duty calls. And I answer. I will not abandon.

It is late at night, and Takezo realizes he's sitting in his dojo at Shiro Mirumoto. The lamps are dark, but the panels have been removed from the great window, and the snow-capped mountains below gleam in the moonlight. Nowhere is greater beauty to be found.
The silence is utter.
Takezo, still unsure why he is here, rises to stand, and is shocked to find that he is exhausted and in pain. Looking down, he sees that he is clad in armor, his arms blood-spattered, their symmetry telling of niten well-used.
He is unsure whether the blood is an enemy's, or his own.
A small child, head shaved in the manner of a Mirumoto boy, eyes bright in the moonlight, stands at the door to the dojo: "Sensei, why did you abandon us?"
In the distance, thunder, though the skies are cloudless.
Takezo awakens, shaken from the concussion of fire blossoms on the walls of the Castle of the Swift Sword. He sits up, stiffly, tired and in pain. As the dream fades, he knows he will never see his home again.
