She takes the cup, taking care to gather her kimono sleeves so that they would not touch the sake stained table. "Oh no, its because of the trade route. The Crab, Lion, and Scorpion champions each have much invested in this trade route, and I am here to help see my son's wishes brought to fruition. May I ask why you are so interested in the southern route?"

Pausing to laugh at one his 'honor guard's abysmal roll at Fortunes & Winds, Akihiko finishes a mouthful of grilled fish, sips some sake.
Oh, my interest in the southern route is lamentably sentimental, and has nothing to do with reasons of state. I grew up in Ryoko Owari Toshi, and have fond memories of Scorpion lands.
Perhaps this is the sake talking, but I find the company of both the Crab and Scorpion to be very sincere, in their respective ways.
He chuckles, and shakes his head. Taking another sip of sake,
My, I'm far to blunt for a daimyo. I may have to learn some tact. Personally, I blame my advisor, Sake-san.
Akihiko seems slightly flushed, but nowhere near drunk.

Rei was taken aback, and smiled at his odd words, "Yoritomo san, I dare say that is the first time I have ever heard Scorpion and Sincere used positively together from the mouth of anyone not of the clan since..... well ever."

[OOC: Did Bayushi Rei-sama almost do a spit-take?]
Akihiko laughed,
Well, Bayushi-san, the Scorpion make no pretense about what they are, no? I can name a clan or two that certainly present a different face from their heart.
There is something refreshing in that.
He sips from the sake again, holds up the cup, and stares at it briefly
Again, under the poor counsel of my trusted advisor, Sake-san, I must confess something: I miss the simpler days of being a mere bushi, and not a daimyo. My decisions were easier, and had less consequence. But then, a samurai's life is one of responsiblity, not freedom, neh?

"I think I understand all to well what you mean, but would you care to elaborate on that?"

Well, Bayushi Rei-sama, to support both my claim of Scorpion sincerity and my own bluntness: The Scorpion are known plotters and schemers. So what? To quote Tangen-sama, "everyone lies." We all play these games of intrigue and manipulation. The Scorpion simply admit it. To me, that is more sincere than some pretense at being guileless.
All clans play at political warfare; those who pretend they don't are simply being insincere.
Glancing at the sake cup,
My, I suspect I may have reprimand to Trusted Advisor Sake-san.

At that Rei stood, "You are indeed a remarkable man, Yoritomo san. I thank you for your company and for allowing me to pay for those gathered."
Before he could object he looked up to see that one of the Bayushi guard had slithered off with a bag of coin and had payed for the entire establishment. Cheers rang out from every corner of the hall.
"Do visit me in Kyuden Bayushi, Akihiko san. I greatly enjoy your candor."
And with that she left, guards in tow. Likely to spread more coin elsewhere.

Hmm, Akihiko thought, perhaps I was a tad too blunt...
An older samurai, attired as a courtier, entered Osano-wo's Fury. He approaches the table where Yoritomo Akihiko is seated. He bows, and addresses Akihiko directly.
Yoritomo Akihiko-sama, as important as this he looks about disapprovingly at the dice and small armada of sake bottles ...council of state is, perhaps you should attend the festivities in honor of Bayushi Senshi-sama and Utaku Haruka-samas' wedding?
Akihiko looks shocked, runs his hands over his face and through his now disheveled hair
Oh damn! I was invited, Kitano-san?
Yes, you are a daimyo now, my lord. So yes, your responsibilities now include attending a party. I realize this must be difficult for you, Akihiko-sama, but yes, you must clean yourself up, board the vessel waiting for you, and mingling with the other daimyo. Oh, the hardships you face, with the drinking and the feasting and the dancing.
with a tone of good humor Damn your eyes, Kitano-san. I should have you flayed for your disrespect.
Kitano smiled wryly, and replied Perhaps, Akihiko-sama. But then who would inform you when your head is stuck in your posterior?
And then off to Unicorn lands, to join the battle?
Yes, Akihiko-sama, all the preparations have been made.
With that, Yoritomo Akihiko, his honor guard, and ACTUAL advisor Kitano (as opposed to Trusted Advisor Sake-San) depart from Osano-wo's Fury.
[OOC: the end. Thank you, Bayushi Senshi-sama!]
