Letter Sent to Agasha Shodai in Ki Rin Temple at the ocasion of the Festival of the White Orchid (rokuganee.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=phoenixhq&action=display&thread=1112); In this ocasion the Kakita daimyo and the Voice of the Phoenix Council are in the 30 days period that precedes the actual wedding.
Daidoji Jun had a hard time climbing the mountain to reach Ki-Rin Temple, but as soon as he made it, the young scout searched for the Phoenix Void Master to deliver two brief letters from the Kakita Daimyo. She, saved his life once and he was glad to help when needed. Of course Jun would never think that he was in front of the same man that once grab him from the hands of a tainted death. To him, Asako Jinjutsu was dead and it was a true loss. Those were personal letters, the Kenshinzen advise him, and of course she believed he was a discreet and trustful person to handle this task. He bowed low to the Phoenix Voice of the elemental Council. Most of people would be confused with the simple attire favored by Agasha Shodai, but Jun already had seen him and his face was not to be forget. When he had permission to talk, he presented himself (of course he didn't expect that Shodai-sama would remind of him): Shodai-dono, I am Daidoji Jun, from Ryo-sama's command. I bring you letters from Mitsouko-dono, the Kakita daimyo.... The peach blossom perfumed paper was the finest in Rokugan and was artfully folded in the old school Imperial court fashion. A grain of pink pepper touched Shodai's hands when he opened it. Sho Wish you good luck in the tournament. Though, I think you should keep your best tricks for a better occasion. Enjoy the blossoms and the mountain air for me.
To your return, white petal with a heart: cherry inside.
Mitsouko
…. The second letter was not so so artistic and planned, but she keep the same intimacy to her betrothed. Dear Sho
Sho, sorry to interrupt with politics affairs, but do your clan already chose who will acompany Asako Izuko-sama’s delegation to the Scorpion? Can we Crane pick someone to accompany the delegation? I will write a formal letter if you think we should. I think of an Asahina, Yukihime-san, I have good feelings about her. I Will wait a response. Mitsouko

Agasha Shodai smiled at the young Daidoji scout whose life he'd saved several months earlier as he accepted the letters from his beloved Mitsouko. "Thank you, Jun-san. Please enjoy the Festival of the White Orchid while I prepare return message to my bride-to-be."[/b]
~*~
The Void Master's return letter carried the masculine musk with notes of fresh pine needles that Mitsouko had found at the perfume trader in Kyuden Seppun, the first place they'd visited as a couple after plumbing the depths of the ruins of Otosan Uchi and reuniting Saimei's spirit with Koimizu Hinata. A magically preserved White Orchid springs back to perfect dimensions when the Kakita opens the letter.
My beloved Mitsu-chan, how I wish you could be here with me to see the beauty to be had here in the mountains of my homeland. The entire mountainside seems covered with snow depite it being summer. I send you one of the rare blossoms and wish I could include the fresh mountain air as well...
Pure white with sweet scent This orchid blooms once per year Gleaming with bright hope
I agree that I should hold some of my skills in reserve; especially given the abrupt turn of events that occurred before the Festival even began....
That vile creature that you and Haruka-san spoke of in Ryoko Owari Toshi - Chuda Shoju - appeared at the tournament in a disguise and managed to talk the head monk of the Shrine into having safe passage and diplomatic immunity for himself and another Chuda! Though I would love nothing more than to stick that perversion of nature into the Void and seal him away for the rest of Eternity, I am honor-bound to keep to the deal that the monk made. I have managed to make their immunity contingent on them behaving themselves and I rather hope to see them fail to uphold their end of the deal so that I might unleash the wrath of all the shugenja gathered here upon them.
*Sigh*
Forgive me, my love; I am extremely out of sorts this evening...
As for your question about accompanying the ambassador, I fully intend to accompany the Emperor's ambassador to ensure her safety, but there has been no official discussion on the topic by the Elemental Council. Izuko-san is the best courtesan the Asako family has ever produced and, knowing her, she would like to get a representative sampling of the Emperor's supporters to join the delegation.
In any event, I will have to catch up with the delegation; I cannot risk leaving the two Chuda unmonitored by someone who can deal with them.
I miss you terribly and will see you as soon as possible; either in Toshi Ranbo or in Kyuden Bayushi.
~Shodai[/b]

OCC: I am not sure if this letter met Shodai still in the Festival, but it was intended to come faster than the first ones..
A light blue silken paper, found only in the finest stores of Toshi Ranbo, was scented, as always, with Mitsouko's personal perfume. The letter, unfortunately, wasn't so carefully painted in the paper, denoting the Kakita daimyo's mood at the time of the writing.
Sho
The news you sent me fills my heart with concern. At Toshi Ranbo, the Spider emissaries were either executed or fled. For now, in a narrow view, it ends a problem, but surely will bring another, later. I am sure you will manage to avoid blood spill in the festival, Sho. I don't think I will meet you at Kyuden Bayushi, I cannot forget what that despicable couple let escape with their arrogance. All of this is their fault, and I shiver only in thinking they are having pleasure in having honored people like Izuko-sama to their feet asking for alliance and support.
Anyway, I miss you much. Sometimes when my resolve fails, I remember of your calm confidence and get some of your inner strength myself.
Mitsouko
