Naetaru lowered his gaze, drawing breath, then again resuming his stance looking up to the Kakita
"Certainly Kakita-san, you are to be granted plenty of time for your preparation. Alas, I am afraid I need to attend to some morning matters and thus I might be indisposed. Would Kakita Tomoko's company suffice? She is one of my trusted aides and she can certainly point out the arranged areas that can be beautified."
He had some extra time, but he would wish for both Kakitas to have the time they willingly wish.
"So Battou-san, it has been more than a pleasure to savor some tangerine Doji blend with you." he said as he rose. "And to be honest you have proven to be more than an artistic soul, much more to an honorable man." nodding in respect.
Doji Mikado opened the door and Daidoji Hinto led the exit respectfully. Naetaru would bid Battou farewell and he will then be exiting the chamber.

Kakita Battou thanked Naetaru and bowed deeply as he returned to his desk and Battou exited the room. He grabbed a servant and asked them where the gardens were. After getting this piece of information, he asked them to inform Kakita Tomoko that this was where he was heading and Naetaru-sama had asked if she wouldn't mind showing him around the area. After a nodded ascent from the servant he moved off that direction.
Then he was in the gardens, waiting on her arrival, already looking around the gardens taking some mental notes in his head of the things he saw that needed repair.

Saiko saw the Crane enter the gardens, and observed him for a moment. The man was eying things with an interest that was beyond that of a normal observer, for sure. The Kakita mon was apparent on his kimono, and the way the man walked and held himself reminded Saiko of... someone. More important to him, though, were the three blades the man wore; an oddity out of Dragon lands, for sure.
He was done with his little game; time was of the essence. Saiko approached the man, taking care to announce his presence; it never did well for an iajutsu student to think he had someone was sneaking up on him, a skill that Saiko had somehow developed over the past few weeks. Close to the man now, and in sight, he bowed slightly.
"Greetings, Kakita-san. Tell me, would you know where I could find Doji Naetaru-dono?"

Battou watched the man approach surreptitiously, keeping his apparent focus on some stonework that was in need of mending. After he introduced himself Battou made the attempt at passing it off like he had not seen the man coming. He bowed in return to the man in equal measure.
"What? Oh, Naetaru-sama, yes. Sorry, I was absorbed in this stone work, here. Naetaru-sama is most likely still in his office, though he claimed to be very busy after we had our meeting. You could probably ask a servant to show you the way, though I'm not sure what his other business is."
He watched the man, obviously someone who was practiced in kenjutsu, green robes, probably a dragon. Probably Mirumoto.
"I've been asked to look at the gardens for possible alterations and new artwork. But I think we've started all wrong. I am Kakita Battou. Might I ask your name?"

Saiko smiled a bit; an artisan. Interesting. "A pleasure, Battou-san. I am Mirumoto Saiko, I have studied with some esteemed colleagues of yours." He followed the man's gaze. "I'm afraid such things are beyond me; I've never had much of an eye for art beyond that of the blades. Though it looks as though you have an eye for them as well." He gestures to the swords attached to Battou's hip.

Inside Battou's head he fist-pumps having nailed the man's origin and family, as well as trade and duty all in a few seconds of looking at him. Hah, don't have to be a stuffy courtier to size a man up...
"Mirumoto Saiko? Kakita Sojiro's cousin? I've heard about you. You're the only other person to have learned Ha no Arashi. And yes, I do appreciate Katana. I craft them even. All three of these are made by me; in the forges in the mountains above Kyuden Doji. Here in the gardens, I am mostly taking mental notes about what needs to be done so I can find someone appropriate to work on it, as Naetaru-sama has expressed an interest in me doing so. And there is no finer artisan than a Kakita."
He gripped the two katana at his hip as he spoke about them. And afterward waved his arms to gesture around the entire garden when he spoke of his task.
"In fact I'm waiting on another of my family that should be here any moment..."

The adorable figure of a Kakita lady, in a lovely plain powder blue kimono (the new Kakita fashion trend, emuling the simple tastes of her daimyo but in a fashionable style), approached the two gentlemen, acompanied by an elder lady. Ohayou, Dragon-san, Kakita-san. She bowed to both, graciously. Battou knew Tomoko, her raven hair shining in the winter morning, as well as her blue eyes. Isn't indeed this fresh air of the morning revigorating? Be welcome to the Fantastic Gardens.

As she came up to them he bowed to her.
"Ah, speak of the.... Hello again, Tomoko-san. I was just speaking of you, thinking that you might appear at any moment. This is Mirumoto Saiko, Sojiro-sempai's cousin."
He was looking at her newly changed kimono. It was just as fantastic as the other that she had worn to the forges at Kyuden Doji. Clearly this woman had fantastic taste in clothing.
"I was just beginning to get some mental notes together about what Doji Naetaru-sama asked me to do."

Saiko bowed as the two Kakita ladies approached, and smiled as he saw Battou's reaction. A very interesting young man...
"A pleasure to meet you both, but I must attend to my meeting with Naetaru-dono. I look forward to getting to know you both better soon." He bowed to the both of them before taking his leave from the gardens, making his way to Naetaru's office. After a few words with some guards, he arrived at the door, where Naetaru's aide greeted him.

Tomoko reminded of having seen Saiko-san in the night when disturbing news about Mitsouko-dono reached Doji Naetaru's hands but he surely didn't reminded her. She was sent to make company to Naetaru after his painful loss, and hopefully represent her own daimyo's support in his direst moments but, according to her general impression, she was failing miserably in her task. Tomoko already wrote a letter to her house, and was considering to ask permission for her seppuku. Lord Naetaru not only ignored her attempts of representing Mitsouko's wishes for his wellbeing but, now was exposing Tomoko to that... well known womanizer. Not to mention tthe fact he thought this man was better prepared to opinate about garden embellishement than her. Though, her thoughts were well hidden by mask of gracious gentleness, her sense of failure just betraied by subtle eyebags concealed with makeup. After the Dragon's departure she spoke: I hope Mirumoto-san bring us good news from the battlefront. And... would you mind sharing some of these 'mental notes'?

" Oh, no, not at all. Though, to tell you the truth, I'm only looking around to suggest to Doji Naetaru-sama who should be sent in to do this. I apparently have gained a reputation as a renowned artisan... Something that I was unaware of until Doji Naetaru-sama invited me here." He smiled and raised one eyebrow. " I'm kind of a big deal now. But, rather than share my impressions, why don't you guide me around here and tell me what you think. You've had more time to familiarize yourself with this place than I have and so your thoughts are very important to me on this. Tomoko-san." If he noticed anything about her condition or anything about her demeanor he was not letting on at all.

"Well, Battou-san, the gardens became a bit sad during this year and... though I understand and welcome the diversity of multiple influences over the new style some of its parts have, by now, I must admit I am a bit traditionalist... Human statues picturing people...it seems so "gaijin" to me... " Tomoko said, while they began a calm stroll in the garden. The elder woman didn't mind following them, as they were in an open place. "But of course some "new Scorpion style" is very appreciated by some important personalities of Doji family... though others are more inclined towards a more traditional form of art..."she smiled, turning to him. "I see you must excell yourself in the art of knowing how and who to please..., she chuckled.

Naetaru was sitting on his desk, he stretched a bit but then again as he was about to resume conducting letters there was a tap on the shoji screen and a servant informed him that...
"Doji Naetaru-sama, Mirumoto Saiko wishes to see you."
Naetaru was taken aback by hearing the samurai's name as he rose and motioned for the servant to let the man in. He looked outside at the gardens and he smiled. The day was getting even more better, getting visits by some favored acquaintances.

He entered the office, and despite himself, a genuine smile crossed his face when appearing before the Doji Daimyo. He bowed deeply before saying, "Naetaru-dono, it is good to see you again. I apologize, I was not able to return personally after my trip to Seawatch Castle, but my wounds got the better of me, I'm afraid. As such, I spent some time in meditation, and as such I am healing quite nicely."
Saiko looked out the windows to the gardens, and laughed to himself a little. "So I had the pleasure of meeting Battou-san... hahaha. A very interesting man, for sure," he said with a slight smirk on his face.

"Ah, well, one does try to please. I just happen to have a knack for finding the best way to please those around me."
His tongue clicked in his mouth as he finished that statement and he was also smiling, though perhaps a bit roguishly. He was not one to pull his punches and he knew what he had to offer. He turned to face her to see if his next words would meet with approval or resistance.
"I myself, have never been one to put up statues to anyone less than fortunes. I'll have to run my ideas past Naetaru-sama, but what I think this garden needs more than anything is some plant-work. First and foremost a garden should have beautiful plants or it can hardly be called a garden at all. I know a woman, fantastic in many respects, but one of her finer talents is Ikebana. Perhaps I could suggest her to Naetaru-sama."
