Saiki had been able to have a glimpse of the drawing, just because her Scorpion nature wasn’t so asleep afterall. Looking askance for a second to her husband, she dared to say: Probably your men already did make some of the things we can think in doing, sama. If… Several assassins were caught in the palace, they should be interrogating them.. or the ones still alive There is any? And… Kazushige-san, do you have any hint of why they tried to assassinate you?

Tsi takes a look at the drawing.
"All the other victims were related to the Seppun in some way. Kazushige-san, do you have any connection to the Seppun family?"
"Have other Seppun been targeted in any way, or only people associated with this first missing guardsman?"

"Of course Otomo-sama, by all means," Kazushige said.
He turned to the Tsi and frowned. "Not that I'm aware of, Tsi-san," he said. "I assume I and my clan-mate were attack because of the investigation we were part of."

Toshuga looks deep in thought for a moment. "Apart from Kiyato's wife, who went missing at the same time he did, and Logu-san, none of the others had direct connections. It is something worth looking into, however." With this, he leaned to his aide, whispered something, and the younger man nodded, bowed, and quickly left the room. The magistrate then reached inside his kimono and pulled out a small bag, from which the faint sounds of clinking could be heard, and placed it on the small table alongside the scroll case.
"Well, I have sent Bakino-san off to look into these matters. I'm afraid I have a few other meetings with more people who want answers, and I must be going. I thank you all once again for your assistance; our forces are stretched so thin right now, I'm not sure we would be able to handle this without the loyalty of the Empire's faithful samurai. Please, keep me informed as to any information you come across, my office is just down the hallway from here." He then offered the group a slight bow, and left the chamber trailing his guards.

"Well then, it appears we have work to do!" Kazushige said, clapping his hands and rubbing them together excitedly. "I admit, I'm no expert, but it seems that following our information to the village would be the best course of action. Unless someone has a better idea?" He looks expectantly at each of the others in turn.

Eiji stood for a few minutes and listened to the conversation unfold, he seemed to be in deep thought.
Just before the Otomo left he spoke up one more time.
"Otomo-sama, do these writs give us access to horses? I do not ask to be given anything for my duty, but it will help us more swiftly bring the empire's justice to these transgressors."
After he waits on a response, he bows to the Otomo as he leaves. Then he turns to the dragon and listens to him.
"Your words are wise, Tamori-san. I think that it would be best if we went to the village since there is no clear connection to the next victim. But I think we should try to be back before dark unless we find something definite, since night is when the coward strikes his targets."

Before Toshuga leaves, he responds to the final question. "I'm afraid we do not have any spare horses that we can simply gift you, but the funds in that purse should more than cover any expenses."

Bowing deeply at the departure of the Otomo magistrate, Shigeoki listens to the Dragon speak. His only response is a single nod of aggreement at that idea. He moves to look at the authority papers in the scroll case, leaving the purse alone for someone else to worry about.

As Akizora weighs the coin pouch in his hand he recollects his thoughts and says:
"Tamori Kazushige-san is right, I think that the village of the disappearance can be our first station."
He looks at them
"Oh please forgive me, I am Yoritomo Akizora, of the Mantis Clan as you know.."
He straightens up and carries on:
"From there we can carry on with a possible investigation on the outskirts. By securing a scouting party ourselves."
He seemed so eager. Must've been perhaps the idle life in court.

Oh dear… Scouting party? Has her any appearance of a person able to do such things? Saiki thought.
Well, I think I need to take other course of action. I may return to court and talk with people close to the Seppun couple; or go to the village and talk with people but... I think I can be more useful where I can at least move by myself...

"There is no need for all of us to investigate the village. Saiki-san, would you mind if I accompanied you to court? If Kazushige-san has already been attacked, I think it unwise for any of us to be alone."

"Tsi-san is right, Shosuro-san," Kazushige says to Saiki, a look of genuine concern on his face. "If we are going to split up, none of us should go anywhere alone."

"Tsi-san, do not be so familiar with my wife. To you she is Shosuro-san for the time being."
His words were even and measured. But it was clear that he was offended.
"Saiki and I will move together. Whatever that means for the group as a whole."
He drew her in close to himself by the waist. His mask was concealing all expression.

Saiki was listening to the men when the thuggish husband of her made that scene. Her body clearly bent to be as far as possible from her husband. But… HUSBAND, I will be dislocated in a rural environment, I will delay your scout party. And Tsi san was just doing what is expected from an honored samurai.

"Then I shall have to go to the court with you, my dear. We will find out what we can, while they find out what is happening at the village."
He let her go, gently, making it apparent that it was at his discretion that she was let go, not hers.
