"If there's a trap to be spring, I say we go spring it," Kazushige said, cracking his knuckles. "Although I would like to have a look at that burned note before we go, if you don't mind, Shosuro-san."

Yes yes, please, come with me and I show you. Saiki conducted the Dragon (and anyone else interested) to the cooking fire, where undoubtedly could be seen remains of a burnt note. Unreadable and carbonized, as she announced. Of course she was very proud of herself and feeling very useful.
(OCC: maybe Saiko would like to add something else).

{ooc:sorry, been running around doing errands, meant to get to this this morning}
As she shows you the fireplace, it takes all of you a moment even after she point out the scroll to notice it, though once you see it you can clearly tell that there are the remains of a scroll, burnt as recently as late last night. As you are gathered around, a deep roll of thunder booms overhead, signaling the approach of the storm...

Kazushige instinctively looked upward at the sound of thunder and frowned. Then he walked to the fireplace and dropped to one knee, looking at the remains of the note without touching it. "Some silence, if you please," he said to the rest of the group. "I am going to commune with the kami and see if anything can be learned." He closed his eyes and concentrated, summoning up his will to attempt communication with the local air kami. Air magic was not his strong point, but he thought an air kami would be the most likely to assist in this particular instance.

After a few moments, a gentle breeze began to blow through the kitchen, rustling the windows and some of the papers laying around. The intensity of the wind increased, gradually building until the small pile of ash in the fireplace was swirling around Kazushige in a whirlwind, obscuring him from view. The wind roars in your ears, assaults your eyes, prevents all senses for a time; then, just as abruptly, it stops, the ash falling softly to the ground.

"Thank you," Kazushige whispered at the air. He stood slowly, and turned to face the group. "The note said simply, 'they are coming,'" Kazushige said to the others in the room. "It seems Tsi-san, or someone in his household, knew an attack was imminent."

As Kazuhige finished his incantation, Eiji was notably more attentive as the whirling cloud of air funneled in and surrounded those in the room. He watched it go, as suddenly as it had come. He then began to stare at the fireplace where the note was settling down. Attempting to divine something, perhaps if the note would have reassembled itself before their very eyes.
Satisfied that there was nothing there that he could see, he resumed his passive cross armed stance, waiting on either the next course of action or for Kazuhige to say what he had learned.

Akizora nods as he listens to the Tamori intently.
"Which makes it more likely for the Tsi to have been possibly aware of this? Like a "fabrication"?"
He was doubtful however, for he couldn't imagine the extent of a Tsi's intrigue.

Gentlemen...I’d love to discuss it over a cup of tea, how about you? Like, in that ‘picturesque’ teahouse at the end of the street. Also, we surely we’ll refresh our minds and…there is a storm coming. Soon we won’t be able to do much else. May we? Ahhh, some riceballs...and fresh tea... Simple pleasures of the civilized life. Saiki's smile expressed much about it.

Ayumu sighed and stroked his beard.
"Let us go and see what this stranger has to say."

As apprehensive as he is, Shigeoki can only nod in agreement to attending to the request in the message that is brought forward.

"A cup of warm sake would do for me better, I think," Kazushige said, grinning, "though tea will do." He waved his arm in the general direction of the door. "Lead on!"

As you prepare to leave the estate, the gentle pitter-patter of rain on the roof begins to intensify, quickly turning into a roar, almost drowning out the sound of your surroundings. Outside, the rain is falling in thick sheets, descending from clouds as black as night, and so much it is that you can barely see the lights of the inn across the street.
The last of the days' business was over, the straggling merchants and heimen scuttling back and forth in an effort to escape the torrential downpour that had arrived faster than anyone had anticipated. The streets had quickly turned into a thick, slippery mud, causing some of you to almost lose your footing as you dash quickly across to escape the rain in the safety of the sake house.
Entering the House of the Last Dragon, you are greeted by a ronin bushi, who informs you that because of the dangerous times, you are permitted to carry your weapons. He pleads, however, that the honorable samas refrain from violence if at all possible, for the people of this town have had enough pain and hardship recently, and all they want is to enjoy their dinner in peace.
The inn itself is spacious and warm, counting at least thirty tables for dining, though many of these are already full. The guests are varied, though many hail from the Crane, although two Phoenix bushi near the door shoot Yoritomo-san a dark look before returning to their meals. A few Lion dot several of the tables, a small contingency of Crab sit in one corner engaged in hushed conversation, and a tattooed monk bearing the mon of the Togashi sits with his eyes closed near the back, a still-smoking pipe resting between his lips.
A moment later, a small man in a dark purple kimono approaches you and bows deeply. "Welcome, samas, to my humble establishment. I am Doji Borro, and I am at your service. Do you require accommodations for the evening, or are you here simply for refreshment and to seek shelter from the storm?" He straightens up and smiles widely, waiting for a reply.

As they approached the doorway of the Tsi's house, Eiji was quick to act, noticing the rain being as harsh as it was, he grabbed Saiki and picked her up. He dashed across the street and his speed was prodigious.
As the others arrived there, he was cleaning off his shoes and placing them in the space provided for. Out of his pack he produced his "inside" shoes and put them on.
As the man approached and explained about them being "allowed" to carry their weapons, Eiji chuckled.
"That's good too, because the moment someone thinks they can take the soul from a samurai, they will have to pry it from his cold dead fingers."
His voice was dark as he said that, but quickly his tone lightened. "We are here to meet someone."
Eiji waited for the others to push forward into one of the rooms where they might find the person who had delivered the note to them. Perhaps the Tsi might want to say something to this man before they progressed.

Ayumu watched, amused, as Eiji scooped Saiki up by surprise and carried her across the river of mud that the road had transformed into.
Perhaps he is not all arrogance and bravado after all.
Once he arrived at the Last Dragon, he removed his muddy shoes and replaced them with footwear more appropriate to the inside of the saki house. He nodded and smiled at the ronin, assuring him that their weapons would only be drawn in self defense, before casting an eye around the room, looking specifically for a man in a dark blue kimono.... and not seeing him.
"Greetings Doji-san, and thank you for your hospitality. My friends would like a table and some refreshments, I believe. As for me, I am expected by one of your patrons already, but some warm saki would do wonders to take the chill of the rain away."
Ayumu looked around again, specifically checking the dark corner mentioned in the letter. As soon as the Doji walks away, he quietly speaks to his companions,so that only they can hear.
"I do not know this man's identity, only that he supposedly is wearing a dark blue kimono. I would appreciate it if Kazushige-san was the only one to accompany me when I meet with him. Not only are we less likely to spook him that way, but that also means that Kazushige-san and I have dependable eyes watching both our backs and the rest of the group as well, if things go awry in some way." He cast a knowing glance at Shigeoki and Eiji, obviously implying his faith in their ability to keep the unexpected under control.
