The messenger of the letter is a petite woman dressed in the traditional browns and reds of the Kitsune. While she appears to be normal, anyone catching her out of the corner of their eye could swear they saw a fox instead of a woman. She speaks softly through the plea sentries almost as if the volume of her voice had been locked away. She presents the letter finally and waits to be dismissed with a smile on her face that went from ear to ear.
Dear Honored Scorpion,
Your current route has recently come to my attention and for that is the reason to which I send this letter. While what I ask is not normally easy to ask and the current state of the empire make even more so but I must urge that you seek an alternate path.
We hold no tricks to delay your actions and wish you a swift journey. However the Kitsune Mori is not friendly to moving troops through, even to friendly troops. This comes not from my family who resides with in its limits but from the spirits who reside here.
The spirits seem riled as of late and the events at Seawatch Castle seemed to have agitated them further. While they seem peaceful to those who have come to harvest bamboo, I cannot say such for those who came to pray upon the opportunities that have arisen from the influx in people. It appears that the spirits are dealing with hostile intent of anyone not of the Mori in their own means.
If you still insist on your current path, I can send some scouts to aid your path through the Mori but I can not promise safety from the spirits. You must do yourselves the favor of just passing through as I fear what may come of hostile intent at these times.
