Mirumoto Machu Training and position- A student of the Shiba bushi school A clan magistrate who often travels to other provinces pursuing leads or on missions to give assistance.
Appearance- A man of just over twenty years. He wears the Dragon mon over his heart but the right arm of his kimono is the yellow, orange, and red of a Phoenix. He has no left hand only a clean stump at the wrist wraped each mourning in purified bandages.
History- Early in his training he, his fellow students, and his sensei traveled to Dragonfly lands for a friendly competition with their Phoenix counterparts. While on a hunting expedition of mixxed schools the nest of a poisionous snake was disturbed. Rather then recoil back or freeze in panic Machu made to grab the snake before it could strike. Though he held it fast it's fangs were already in his palm. With out hesitation Machu drew his wakisashi and in one stroke beheaded the snake and removing his own hand before the venom could spread. When he awoke he was informed that his display of courage and will had earned him a place in the Shiba school as he could never master the way of Niten.

Mirumoto Takezo
Formerly a spiritual wanderer, duelist of uncommon ability (some have called him the most dangerous man in Rokugan (Iaijutsu > 200)), and Master of Void.
Currently (if reluctantly) Champion of the Dragon.
Mirumoto Takezo is in his early 40s; unusually tall, he is thin not in the sense of slender, but "rangey", lithe and efficiently muscular with a long stride and reach (certainly an advantage with a sword) - he conveys an impression more of power than of elegance. He wears a traditional topknot and a full, close-trimmed beard, black but salted with years, and with his piercing, black eyes evokes patient ferocity. Takezo eschews luxury, preferring a simple kimono and daisho with only the minimum of decoration.
Takezo, before becoming Clan Champion, spent almost the whole of his life (from his gempukku at 14) wandering in search of lore and techniques, and carrying out difficult and lonely tasks for his lord. Never seeking glory or aggrandizement, it had a way of finding him anyway - elevation to posts, invitations to court, rewards of titles and property. Indeed, he even struggled against the mantle of Champion, arguing that one who had rarely even been in Dragon lands, who suffered a distaste for court life, and whose best work was done treading through dust and grime to fell yet another Lost bushi was unsuited for such a title, but duty's call was persistent... and here he is.
Mirumoto Takezo is a traditionalist and sternly moral man - many younger samurai regard him as stiff and old-fashioned at times, particularly in regard to his dismissal of commerce as a source for influence and political power. Takezo seeks to bring the Dragon back to their rightful place - moral, strong, and spiritual, rejecting luxury and worldly influences.
In his private life, Takezo enjoys solitary pursuits - he is an avid scholar (base Lore 35ish), a passably excellent Go player, and a world-class athlete who maintains his fitness with an almost inhuman exercise regimen. He intensely dislikes the "theater" of courtly life, preferring the company of scholars and monks - indeed, his closest confident is the monk Ojii-sensei, a long time samurai mentor prior to his assumption of the tonsure. He has found an unexpected delight in meeting some of the very young and talented samurai who serve as his various functionaries, however.

Name: Togashi Eizo (My RPG character)
Age: 24
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 150 lbs
Hair: None (Black normally)
Eyes: Brown
Looks: Togashi Eizo appears to be an average, bald headed monk. He is a little on the tall side, but is very thin, and moves with a sort of twitchy motion that some may mistake as nervousness. The air around him seems to shimmer with heat not uncommon in summer, even in the depths of winter. His garb is plain and a straw hat seems to be keeping the world from seeing his view.
Tattoos: Phoenix- Across the back of his shoulders. Crow- Upper chest, tips of wings touch the phoenix. Arrowroot- On left forearm. Dragon- Right side of his face. Blaze- Across the back of his right hand. Centipede- Wrapped around his midsection.

Post by Mirumoto Kissaki on Jan 24, 2011 17:00:59 GMT -5
(ooc note: Kissaki is my character from the Heroes of Rokugan: Spirit of Bushido living campaign).
name: Mirumoto Kissaki age: ~24 (or 1000+, depending on who's counting) role: duelist
information: Mirumoto Kissaki studied under M. Hojatsu during the Dawn of the Empire period, having been tasked to that by Mirumoto himself (after his retirement, but before his death in the Shadowlands). Also during life he was assigned to the Hantei's personal bodyguard during the War Against Fu Leng and gave his life defending the Son of Heaven from a massive oni's attack- though the Hantei was wounded grievously, Kissaki slowed the demon's blade with his swords and body enough to keep Hantei alive, killing the oni in retribution as his last act. He left behind an expecting (Doji) wife, who moved to Dragon lands to honor her husband's actions and worked closely with the Agasha family to prepare them for the rigors of the southern courts.
Kissaki spent the next thousand years in Yomi, having fulfilled his Great Destiny (to die protecting the Emperor). When Toturi went to Yomi to recruit the ancestral armies, Kissaki led the Dragon contingent into battle against the Shadow through Oblivion's Gate.
Now, Kissaki is finding his place in the world and trying to reconcile himself with the changes that have inevitably taken place over the millennium, which, even in a static culture like Rokugan, are quite distinct. Not to mention finding his lost swords and ancestors, if possible. The problem is that returned spirits often forget their past lives...
Physically, Kissaki is a tall, sharp-faced man with long, knuckly hands and a soft golden glow to him. He is usually on the quiet side, preferring to listen than talk, but he has been known to take a few jabs at the Crane from time to time. In his opinion, Kakita has not fulfilled his promise to protect the Empire, having pawned that off on the Crab ages ago. He also carries with him a daisho that is more flashy and ornate than one might normally see on a Dragon, but it is a rare, ancient style often reffered to as an uchigatana (the 2k2 predecessor to the 3k2 katana developed using the Agasha's water-hammer technique)- the sword is named Daikiku and the wakizashi is named Daiume...

Mirumoto Katsutoshi (The Steel Dragon)
(PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE)
Katsutoshi, currently oversees the training and leads one of the Dragon clan’s strike which he calls “Kentetsu Ryu”. A practitioner of Niten and Iaijutsu, and incorporating teachings of both technique in his self taught style; Claws of the Black Dragon.
Prior to his command of the Strike unit, Mirumoto Katsutoshi came out from his Musha Shugyo which lasted over a decade, and save a few heroic acts that have been sung by local peasants, not many things is known about his past.
(Dark Secret)
He is a leader to a small yet well maintained organized crime flourishing in Tetsu Kama mura which is the source of his wealth that is unquestioned due to his known “family inheritance”. He is in constant contact with other crime syndicate in the empire, and has an ambition of invading other territories and placing himself as head of the criminal organization in the empire.
Katsutoshi is an adopted child, abandoned as a new born child sometime during the years of the first Toturi’s death. He was raised by a samurai of the dragon clan who fortunately comes from an already wealthy family. Although lucky with his foster family, Katsutoshi seemed to have lost them all sometime during the war of the four winds(in truth, he actually killed all save one who had escaped, fleeing for his/her life), after which he declared a Musha shugyo to find himself and what he had lost.
Description:
Katsutoshi is a tall (5’11) rokugani whose heavy boned body frame is supported by a small yet noticeable “sake” belly. Save from his beady rat like eyes, beautiful jet black hair and well trimmed daily oiled moustache and beard, his face could be best said to be bland.
He wears robes unusual for a Dragon, as he prefers the color of black in his daily attire, and is usually covered with that kind of color scheme when it comes to his fashion style.
Katsutoshi always carries his Daisho (Swords whose names that he invokes rarely) with him, which are Kakita made in regards to quality, and his biwa which he plays during time of great stress or when needed.

Post by Togashi Jinyu on Jan 25, 2011 22:39:24 GMT -5
Name: Togashi Jinyu Age: 23 Role: Whatever role is necessary, really. Training: She received whatever formal (or informal) training she could get at the high house of lights, and has been wandering Rokugan since she left there, picking up whatever else she can through a combination of observation and trial and error. A bit of a jack of all trades, really, she knows enough to get by in most situations. She is, however, quite skilled in Jiujitsu. Appearance: Average height, lightly tanned skin from being out in the sun so much, dark eyes, long dark hair kept in a tight braid. She dresses in simple monk's robes unless absolutely required to do otherwise, and it's not uncommon for her to let the top part hang around her waist to show off the tattoos on her neck and arms. (she has the Mantis tattoo on her neck, the Ocean on her arms, the Void on her forehead and the Crow across her shoulders) She's in very good shape, physically, but she isn't pretty. She's not ugly, she's just fairly bland. When traveling, and she is almost always traveling, she carries a bamboo tayal pack filled with he few worldly possessions, and a large, somewhat beat up umbrella. She wears simple wooden sandals, but only when she must. Personality: She's largely cheerful and optimistic, even at the worst of times, and never seems particularly angry. She doesn't speak very often, as she prefers to listen, and when she does its mostly in cones and riddles, and she's fond of playing devils advocate, even against her own stated opinions. If you can understand what the hell she's saying, she often proves to be quite insightful. Information: Other than the fact that she's an Ise Zumi, nobody really seems to know much about her, and it seems she likes it that way. ... ILLUSTRAYSHUNZ! ![](http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a261/Tressym/jinyu.jpg) ...sloppy sketch is sloppy, but hey, it works.

Post by Kitsuki Daiki on Jan 26, 2011 1:30:54 GMT -5
Name:Kitsuki Daiki Age: 18 Role: Dragon Magistrate Training: Kitsuki Investigator School, Kitsuki Justicar Training
Appearance: Light of heart and step, Daiki is roughly 5'6, with a shaved head and black eyes. He is not exceptionally handsome, but his carefree smile warms people to him fairly quickly. Though if pushed to combat his eyes hold no pity for a foe. He dresses plainly, usually in dark green Kimono's, favoring sturdy clothes when traveling or at home, only doning fancy robes when in very traditional or fancy courts, like Lion, Crane, and other more traditonal clans. For those who have seen him practicing kata, he usually dispenses kimonos in favor of chest wraps or no covering at all, and training pants. He has a Bushi's physique, but the soul of a poet. He is often found furiously writing haikus, and when his elders are not looking, sipping sake while doing so.

ooc: Love the "sloppy" sketch Jinyu-san! Swish character. Also good work for making us the first clan to have a picture of a character uploaded (as far as I know?). Also, Daiki - your last line made me chuckle. Just pictured a mad writer guzzling wine as his hand deftly writes... or drunkenly. Haha

Dragon Clan
Dragon Clan ? Ambassador to the Lion ? Magistrate ? Samurai ? Courtier ? Tatooed ?

Post by Kitsuki Kai on Feb 3, 2011 13:43:47 GMT -5
Name: Kitsuki Kai Age: Mid 20's Role: Invesitgator, Dragon Magistrate, Former Emerald Yoriki
Lineage: Kai takes his name from his ancestor Togashi Kai, a Dragon Samurai who rose to the rank of General, Emerald Magistrate, and effectively held the role of Ruby Champion before the positions official formation. It is General Kai's Daisho that young Kitsuki Kai wears. The Katana is named Winter Nightfall. It has a blade of the purest white and is rumored to have been forged by the Kami Togashi from a stone the fell from the sky in the Shadowlands, and was recovered by Togashi Kai and his blood brother Mastu Nishizuma, whose family holds the blade, Summer Nightfall.
Training: Kai's parents retired to the Togashi Tatooed Order when he was young, a tradition in his family. Thus he was raised in the high house of light and taught the ways of the Ise Zumi. While Kai does have tatoos visible on his forearms, he insists they are mere decoration and a family tradition. Upon achieving gempukku and taking the name of his gloried ancestor and the family name of his father Kitsuki, (He was known as Ichiro). He completed his studies Kyuden Kituski and went to train at Iron Mountain Dojo as a Justicar. Do to his family's respected name he was granted the position of Dragon Magistrate and given the opportunity to serve as a Yoriki to and Emerald Magistrate from the Lion Clan. Unfortunately in an incident Kai has thus far been unwilling to discuss. The Magistrate was killed and Kai was gravely wounded. He was found by a Scorpion Shugenja named Soshi Kiso and taken to Dragonfly lands where he recovered. Feeling that he had failed in his duty, he undertook a Musha Shugyo, a warrior's pilgrimage, to redeem his worth and avenge his master. He has recently returned from it and remains unwilling to discuss what occurred on it.
Appearance and personality: Kai is a man of average build and in appearance would be wholly unremarkable if not for the tatoos on his forearms and deepness of his eyes. Kai seems to oscillate between two demeanors. One he shares with his friends and clanmates, one with strangers and for official functions. With his friends he is generally cheerful, pragmatic, and plain spoken. When otherwise engaged he is enigmatic and aloof tending to quote the Tao or some learned scholar to convey meaning.
Kai's Family owns a small village on the Dragon Heart Plains and as he is the only member not in a monastery he is the lord of it. The village has a small Tea House, and Inn, a sake works, a blacksmith and grows rice and millet. What is unusual about the village is that it is populated entirely by ex-convicts and their families. Kai's namesake started the program which gathered convicts sentenced to death (Many by the General himself) and offered them a chance at life. 7 years of military service in a light infantry unit at least one year of which is spent on the Carpenter Wall. If they survive they are taught a trade and given a home in this village. As a result security has never been an issue as virtually everyone in the village is a hardened veteran. During the 7 years all the participants are not allowed to drink or have sexual relations and are taught to read the Tao and write poetry. They all have tatoos marking their service. The village provides a very modest income to Kitsuki Kai.
Kai travels with an eta attendant Ryoko, who is trained in autopsy and investigation. He places much stock in her skills and treats her very well.

Togashi Rikyu
Dragon Clan – Order of Togashi Born: 24th day, month of Goat, 1101
• Duty: Raised as a monk of the Order of Togashi, Rikyu has been handed the duty to travel the vast lands of the Emerald Empire observing every detail for history and ensuring Rokugan and its culture remain in harmony.
• Presence: Rikyu stands large and stoic. All six foot three inches covered with the tails and trials of his travels. This man of few words reads as an open book. Ask and trust the answer you receive.
• Motivation and Ambitions: While traveling Rokugan for the order, Rikyu searches the depths of his own being seeking total balance and enlightenment. He also believes injustices across Rokugan must be righted to keep balance with the spirit realms. Ultimately he seeks out answers about his parents and how he came to be raised by the order.
• Trust and Prejudices: Rikyu’s trust lies with his brothers in the order. His service and devotion to Togashi and the Dragon Clan dictate every aspect of his life. He also takes great wisdom and understanding from hauntings and visions of his ancestors. He holds no prejudice only understanding.
• Strength and Weakness: With great strength comes great weakness. Togashi Rikyu can tell no lies. While admired for his unrelenting true sincerity, the inability hide information tends to result in conflict.
• Bushido: While not bound by the codes of Bushido, Rikyu finds his vows as a monk as well as to Togashi follow right alongside the principles Akodo laid out. Honesty, sincerity and compassion are of particular importance to him.
• Emotions: Emotionally Rikyu is extremely composed and even tempered. The only emotional weakness he shows is regarding the loss of his brother Koryu. Koryu left the order to pursue tainted love in the Shadowlands.
• Religion and Philosophy: Shintao and Ancestral worship as well as a deep belief in Kharma make up Rikyu’s religious and philosophical virtues.
