(ooc: Am I correct in saying none of your characters have frequented a geisha house much or know much about the etiquette? If you do know about the etiquette then you may realise it is odd for one geisha to play an instrument while the other talks... odd, but not completely bad etiquette or anything. Usually the song is to be heard and appreciated. Not listened to during conversation. Just something to be aware of ^^ )

The Kasuga grinned in appreciation at the taller of the two Geisha... 'Did she perhaps know of my name and change to dress to match?' thought the Kasuga... It had been a while since people had called him 'Sunflower', but he was named Himiwari after the smaller species of sunflower that grew on the hills that overlooked his home's bay. Perhaps this was why she had to adjust her robe? Because it was a quick replacement for another? The Kasuga turned his thoughts towards strategy... Why would she seek to favor me, rather than the much more prestigious Scorpion and Lion? While the Lion might be too honorable to engage in the sort of flattery that a Geisha desired, certainly Ichiro-san did not share similar compulsions... There was something amiss in the currying of favor... Kasuga would be watching.
"Jinto, I am curious as to how you expect the Yobanjin to respond to this most recent march of Rokugani armies... will they lift the seige to engage us? Or will they stand, in order to try to overwhelm the defenders first... and then turn to us..."
The Kasuga pauses, and motions towards the taller Geisha. "Most charming of wildflowers, would you come sit near me, that I may relish your whispered words while others must make due with the refrains of music?"
While extending a hand towards a space normally reserved for an associate, the Kasuga smiled generously... not minding at all that placing her so close would allow him a momentary brush of the sleeve, the smell of her perfumed skin... or the chance to hold her firmly aside, should there be something less savory afoot.
"excellent, you grow in my esteem as flowers to the sun..."

close to the Geisha, I shut my face. Everything in my way saying that I was not at all accustomed to Geisha houses and a slight blush appeared on my cheeks. I remained silent, drinking my tea in small doses, pending responses Seppun Guard.

Kaito welcomes the two women with a wide smile on his face. Not just because the company of beautiful women, but to have some time to relax at least.
He crosses his arms, and sits in a very straight position, and closes his only eye to enjoy the rythm of the shamisen while the geisha is playing on it.
My friends, I feel this a unique moment which shoul be remembered during the days in the war. We won't have such times in the forseeable future - I feel it in my heart.

Though we all prepare for this war as brothers, I heard rumors from the Imperial Court, that not everyone supported the rush how the Shogun reacted to the invasion. I'd be interested about your opinion and point of view.
Myself, I cannot really decide: somehow this act seems to me without the allowance of the Emperor, which shows in a way that the Shogun thinks he's above orders. But on the other hand, the Emperor was that one who promoted him for this position.
Kaito sips from his tea, and waits for the reactions of his company. His face says calm, bit his eyes gleam with interest and shows he is really without decision.

I fixed Kaito to know where he wanted to come there. Raising me and looking at the members of the table, I say:
" The rumours make good progress in the court, it is on. And I share your point of view that the shogun rushed to reunite an immense army without the agreement of the emperor. "
Lowering the voice, I get closer of kaito:
" This situation is really strange because I have more the impression than the actions of the shogun are going to divide clans instead of uniting them under the banner of the empire. The emperor is in front of the fact carried out, he has no choice. He has to support his shogun. "
Then I make the silence.

Kaito nods, but his face still shows doubts.
In one way I can agree with your thinking, but on the other hand the Emperor was the one who promoted Kaneka to the position of the Shogun. And as a Shogun, he is the military leader of the Imperial Legions. Due to his nomination, haven't the Shogun got the authority to act at once as he sees any threat to the Empire?

The shogun has homework to sound emperors and as first samurai of the empire he has to show an example above any suspicion. Except, I notice that his choices do not make unanimities in clans and his pose a problem.
The shogun also owes of not not to cross(spend) the will of the emperor.
Now, that are called clans to fight the barbarians of the North, it is a good thing. But it makes attention pay that this action does not serve that his personal glory...
Fixing Kaito, I felt that I was the only one has this table to think of this.

Senhime smiled at Himiwari's words and inched closer to him to where he had gestured, pretending to slightly hide behind her right arm's long kimono sleeve. "my, my, you are too kind. What would you have me whisper o-samurai-sama?" She asked, teasingly.
Honako, for her part, continued her shamisen playing but only gently so as not to overpower conversation. She backed off slightly to one of the corners of the room.
Senhime continued to chatter with the Kasuga, every now and then leaning a little closer before sitting straight once more. These movements would leave Himiwari with the pleasant smell of her perfume; a slight scent of camellia. Of course there was also the accidental touch as Senhime enjoyed talking about her days, using enthusiastic hand gestures to do so.
Jinto listened to Takeo and Kaito talk of more formal matters while he enjoyed some sake. He was brooding slightly since Beniha was not there as he had requested. It was a first. Eventually he waived his hands towards Takeo and Kaito
"Both of you make good points. However, this is not a time for such discussions. Tell me instead about yourselves. A good story would go down well, yes?". He gestured to the drinks now on the table, reminding them to enjoy themselves.
As he did this, Honako finished her first song and carefully put her instrument down to the side, dipping her head in silent thanks for being allowed to play before them. She then gracefully maneouvred to the table and began to pour drinks
"Please enjoy samas. Do you have any requests?". It was not clear if she spoke about the shamisen or generally.

Elsewhere in the establishment, Beniha lay still and lifeless in her room along with one young girl who was being trained as a geisha. The blood around them had stopped flowing out quite some time ago and the two just lay there in the dark, unknown. The room was otherwise untouched bar one small thing. One tiny thing that nobody but one of the other ladies who knew Beniha may possibly notice. Beniha's most prized possession was missing from the room - an ornately carved box with scenes of moving beauty from around the Empire. The view of mountains from Dragon lands in Winter. The sea of the Mantis. A misty lake surrounded by flowers in the lands of the Scorpion. It was otherwise a simple holder of tea leaves with separate compartments for different types. It had been a gift from one of her favourite clients less than a month ago...
It now sat neatly in a side room on the first floor, a room where tea was prepared day after day by different geisha. Each had their own specialities with their tea. Of course, some tea was prepared by servants but a true geisha could prepare the best. The room was still warm from the tea that had been prepared there earlier...

Ah Jinto sama, You're definetly right about we should talk about less serious issues if we'd like to enjoy this night. - smiles Kaito. I don't have many things to tell about myself. I was born in a noble family of the Matsu, which is originated from the honorable Lady Matsu. In my young days the way of the sword amazed me, and since I grabbed my first bokken, I'm on the way to perfect myself in the art of swordmanship.
A little anecdote comes to my mind. A few years before my gempukku I was so fortunate to spend some months in the Imperial court due to my father's duties. In those days I participated in the trainings of the Seppun samurai-to bes. There was a yound instructor who was very strict to me during the keikos. I tried harder and harder during each training, but his passion didn't reduce. At the end of one of the keikos, he came to me and gave the advice to fence in a softer way. My teachers told me to put all my strenght into my fights, so this advice was very strange to my Matsu head - I have to mention during those days my sensei weren't Matsu Miweko or Matsu Seijuro samas. So on the next day I started to drive back my strenght. It was hard, but after a few weeks my way of fencing became more smooth and relaxed. Unfortunately later I haven't met that instructor, bacause he had to go to some mission given from his family. But today I have the opportunity to thank him his advice. So thank You Jinto sama: that young samurai was You. I'm not sure You remember a brash Matsu boy, but he remembers You from those days. - Kaito bows and smiles to the Seppun. (OOC: I hope he's older than me, so the story could be real... )

(ooc: He is in his late 30s so I am not sure if it quite makes sense? I will go with his uncle instead)
Jinto squinted for a second, looking a little surprised. He then snaps back to attention "Kaito-san, I think you must mean my uncle who shares the same name as I. I have never had the honour of instructing yet but do know he has instructed some students at various schools in the past". He smiles at the Lion, filling his cup with sake.
"I must say I am grateful for the compliment. My own sword skills feel rusty of late. I yearn to test them against the enemy. Still, another time, another time. Let us drink and be happy for one evening". He beckons Honako over to him and whispers something to her. She nods and smiles very cheerfully, going back to her instrument.
"I hope this pleases you all" she says before beginning a well liked contemporary song from Toshi Ranbo. The song is slow at first but increases in tempo and strength as it goes on, much like its subjects. Hanoko tastefully sings the few lines that lie between the music solos. It concerns a young samurai student and his dutiful teacher. The student has successful if taxing training until he achieves a kata of such refinement that it teaches something new to his teacher. Jinto lightly says to Kaito "You should meet with my uncle again. He has retired now but I am sure he would enjoy seeing one of his students, even if you were but briefly"
The tea pot on the table sits there, some steam still rising from it. "Samas, if you do not wish to try our fine sake perhaps I can interest you in this tea I have prepared for you myself?" Senhime says to the group, as the music continues to play

Oh, You must be right Jinto sama, it was ages ago, sorry for my confusion - laughs Kaito. I don't know how did I mix You with your uncle. I would say the lights of the previous sake house and this pleasant treat here made me languid.Visiting Jinto sensei would be honorific, I'll definitely make contact with him about this. I hope he's in good health, and a humble student won't disturb him.Kaito enjoys the music, and when Senhime asks about the sake he turns to her with a smile on his face. Who told You little one that no one would try the sake of the house? Plaese serve us from it, I wouldn't make my Ikoma ancestors angry with drinking only tea.

Senhime does her best to smile and begins pouring Kaito the sake he has requested. For a split second Hanoko plays a slightly odd sounding note before the music goes back to being as flawless as it was before. Jinto, not noticing, continues to nod at Kaito's words as he finishes his third cup of sake. He seems to be quite keen on it this evening.
Time passes slowly for the group, as they stick to sake and the tea cools. Eventually there is a tap on the sliding doors and a woman's voice can be heard. She introduces herself as Beniha, before sliding the doors open. Her impressively done up hair is the first thing anyone notices, followed by the colourful fan she coyly hides her face behind. Her kimono is equally as impressive as her hair style, full of swirling golds and silvers. "Apologies samas, I am embarassed to have been delayed". The woman is slim and inhumanly attractive. She humbly enters the room and sits next to Jinto who perks up immediately, though he squints a little.
"Were you not well Beniha?" he asks, excluding the honorific. "You did not have to come if you are not feeling quite alright". She beats her fan a few times, deftly moving her hand along the ground to accidentally touch Jinto on the knee for a second. None of the others notice but Jinto smiles, feeling a bit relieved and less suspicious. Beniha answers him "I am fine, please, how are you all?" and starting to converse, remaining quite hidden behind her fan.
