New tainted mines?

It seems that new tainted mines are popping in Rokugan. I have seen 2 of them, up to now : 1 iron mine in western Rokugan (don't remember exactly the place) and 1 silver mine in Mori Isawa.

I understand that the new jobs recently added increase the need for metal harvesting, but I wonder why those two mines are corrupted.

Is it a new storyline that is beginning secretly? Nevermind, it gives at real advantage to tainted players because they also have access to standard jobs that drop metal.

Any clue about this?

The corrupted copper mine has appeared in Lion territory as well. They were a staple of sorts in the CCG for Shadowlands players, their implementation here may mean a sinister turn of events for the Empire.

They've actually appeared all over the map. Corrupt gold mines have now surfaced near Dragon territories. The Spider favor required implies their involvement.

yeah it just gives you two to three gold (or silver or whatever) per pass no mastery and the spider favor cost is a little much

Maybe you should upping your Etiquette or Courtier to tell Sezaru about it, so he starts the cleaning...

There's also a new job in the corrupted Crab mines. Something far sinister than just mining...

While the Spider favor may seem a bit much, keep in mind that Spider had nothing to do with their favors except one job. There is a mastery for each action. Upon Mastering that action, you gain another of the commodity listed.

I also ended up with a fair amount of these items from doing the jobs, and plan on taking them all the way to max mastery as time allows.

And yes, we do have something far more sinister going on in Crab Lands. I'm very interested in how this will play out.

In case you're not sure what job those dirty, dirty Spider are talking about, it takes a Black Scroll. That should give you some idea just how much trouble we're in.
