Kenpachi was brought to reality by his Lord's voice. Jumping sideways, he drew his blade and looked to his Lord. "Come out dogs!" he bellowed in the night.
A small creature came up in the night. A high voice, which seemed irritated, spoke clearly.
"Cat, actually." A perfectly white, cat leaped onto a large rock and began to look at Kenpachi. Meanwhile his wife's ghost stared deeply into a small clear pond, several feet away.
"She's not going to leave." the cat said licking a paw. "Not until you know the truth and forgive"
"Sanjuro-sama," Kenpachi said keeping one eye on the cat. "What in the name of the Kami is that, and what is it talking about?"

OCC: \0/ I'm loving it! CSI Rokugan+Sherlock Holmes Samurai! Liked, Sanjuro!
*What the…!* Mitsuko refrained her own thoughts, watching the incredible scene in the clearing. She also had her katana with her, but still sheathed. The Monkey Champion impressed her with such overzealous behavior, but she was sure this vision wasn’t something he was expecting to happen in his lands. To be sincere, neither herself. “A bakeneko?” she whispered over Sanjuro’s shoulder.

Sanjuro position his katana out from his body still. looking at the cat. He slightly leaned his head to the left so Mitsouko could hear him "Can you see two tails? If it is true then it means to torment Kenpachi with nightmares til it consumes his soul (ooc lore 25), I unfortunatly do not know how to kill one, do you Mitsouko?.
During this conversation Sanjuro positioned himself to intercept any flank attacks that would be directed at Mitsouko. Sanjuro stood there calm and collected as if this happened to him everyday. Truth be told he was worried for his friend Kenpachi and the beautiful Mitsouko that he had just met, but he refused to let any spirits, man, celestial, or oni ever see him sweat. Sanjuro was stubborn like that.
"Be wary Kenpachi, these creatures mean to kill with lies and tricks!" Sanjuro spoke with purpose.
Sanjuro whispered to Mitsouko "just in case." Sanjuro dropped a knife from his left palm. Mitsouko glanced down for a second and saw a jade knife. "If things get violent I will keep their attention." Sanjuro smiled

“I Think I know what he´s talking about. Bakeneko or not.” She loosed her furisode’s obi a little, she would need some fluidness of movements, just in case of needing to use her sword. But she was sure Toku Champion would be upset if she was the first to do so. Damn rules of etiquette. Her eyes went to her cousin’s phantasmagorical form. No breeze could be noticed, in the bamboos forest. No wind kami to make her know what to do. But only Mitsouko saw the way Aiko’s spirit gazed at her, in the garden. She was afraid, she was begging her something. Mitouko was not fond to tell other person’s secrets, but this was something very different. Her cousin wasn’t in peace. She wasn’t even in Meido. The Kakita whispered again: “You know, Sanjuro-sama, I think this “thing” is right. Aiko’s now bonded to our realm. She is afraid of something… and she needs revenge to be set free. I think I know what she needs to Kenpachi-san to know.”

Kenpachi looked to the cat, then back to where he heard Sanjuro-sama's voice. "What do you mean until I know and forgive?" he asked the cat. This was unusual. What was this cat talking about? For that matter, why was it talking?
"I won't tell you. She asked me not to."
"Then why tell me this?"
"She was kind. Interesting too."
Kenpachi looked at the spirit of his wife. It tore at his heart to see her here. He thought of his son, alone in Medio.
"How do I know this is not some trick?"
"You can't. Ask someone. Perhaps they can tell you. Forgive, Kenpachi. She's more fun alive."
What was this thing talking about? His wife needed him to find out and forgive? A black hole began to form in his stomach. He needed answers.

Sanjuro sheathed his sword and turned sideways where he could see both Kenpachi and Mitsouko. He placed his hand over his face and could feel the tension behind it. scenario after scenario ran through his head. his dropped his hand from his face. The cool nights breeze caressed his face cooling the sweat that had started to form on his face. He opened his eyes and turned his head to look at Mitsouko, Sanjuro studied her face. He saw every curvature every angle. In the night her beauty almost resembled that of the fabled snow maidens. Sanjuro noticed a strand of her bangs had fallen out of place drapping down her face. The general demenor of her facial expression was well hidden although she slightly pursed her lips. He stared into her eyes. and saw regret and sadness.
Sanjuro took a step closer to her to where they were just a few feet from each other and at a distance it may have looked they were too close to each other. Sanjuro bowed his head to her and whispered "Mitsouko please, what happened with your cousin. What was going on with Kenpachi's wife?"
Sanjuro was sure of what may happen but he wanted to hear it from Mitsouko.

OCC: OHHH Sanjuro, I liked this new avatar, but the older one was kind of Inspiring...hahahahah
Mitsouko sighed deeply, telling the truth firmly and in a single flow. She tried to make it simplest as possible. No time for long stories. Just facts and feelings: “ Aiko’s love was from someone else than her husband. I am sure she felt so sorry. I am sure she would like Kenpachi-san could understand she was weak. She tried very hard to honor her duties and be a good mother… But, somehow, she wasn’t able to forget her true love. I know she would like to beg her husband pardon. This is a long story, I think it´s not a proper time for it.” Actually, the deep gaze from Sanjuro was making Mitsouko feel embarrassed. Yes, for a moment, she thought he was looking at her “that way”. She refused to blink or blush. Being in front of him and so close, even keeping an eye in the bakeneko and the ghost, for the first time, she really looked at Sanjuro's face...

Sanjuro stood listening to the facts of the story fighting to stay concentrated, He found Mitsouko pleasantly distracting. However there was duties to do. At the end of the story Sanjuro let a deep breath out and closed his eyes. He remembered it all like it was yesterday....
10 years ago Toku Sanjuro ran up a hill in the middle of summer chasing his cousins around in blissful playful joy. He was just 9 years of age, about to train for his gempuku. This was in a way the last of his innocence, the last of what he could honestly call his childhood. His mothers name was Doji Umeko. She was politically married to Sanjuros father, and somewhere in this they fell in love. His parents sat on the top of the hill with Sanjuros aunt and uncle from the crane lands in company also. Sanjuro had a crush at the time with one of his cousin's friends that had come along Daidoji Shiori. He gave her flowers. He never saw her after that visit, although he heard she was a successful scout in service to the crane. Sanjuro had always been drawn to the beauty of the crane, ever since he was little.
Sanjuro gazing at Mitsouko gathered himself and nodded at the conclusion of the story. He could swear he smelled the summer flowers in bloom on the nights air. He smiled at Mitsouko and ran his hand over the top of his head.
"We must make this right Mitsouko, your cousins spirit needs peace. I respect love and I know duty can get in the way of that. Kenpachi is a good man, and his peace is intertwined with hers. You do not need to worry for this secret. I will help you carry it as much as you will allow." Sanjuro bowed to Mitsouko his eyes slightly glossy.
"we need to tell Kenpachi, I am by your side and no man nor spirit will lay harm to you as long as I draw breath. This I swear." Sanjuro gave Mitsouko a smile and closed his eyes slowly capturing this moment in his mind before re opening his eyes.

She nodded, baffled and speechless as usual. Her mouth went dry, suddenly. Could not help but to blush after Sanjuro's grave words. *C’mon, don’t look at me this way…Don't say such gentle things! Please, Mitsouko, don’t distract yourself of what you have to do. You again said too much. By other side, they would find this out by other methods, and things would go worse. But you know, Ryo will be pissed at you, you can count on this. Oh yeah, your best friend used to rely on you. And now, You betrayed their secret. You maculated their honor forever! And to worse things, this damn cat…! You are really messed, you know what your mother says…* She took the strand of hair off her face, turning to where Kenpachi was. “I can’t remember how to get rid of the bakeneko, sorry. But we need to do something, right now.”

Sanjuro closed his eyes and nodded. He thought to himself. She is torn in this matter. You cannot push her. There is more to this, but I can tell the true villain hasn't been revealed yet. Whatever the cost though I have to protect them both. Kenpachi is a good friend always has been, and no man deserves what he has gone through. Mitsouko is a good person as well. I have always had an excellent judge of character in people. The key is body language. Being torn between family and duty is a terrible burden. A inner battle is waging inside her. These next few moments will shape things. Remember what old Toku Fuju taught you. People are beings of passion. There are all types of it. Love, Hate, Anger, Drive, Compassion, and Envy. Passion can exist in all things. People are moved by it and to deny it means we are no longer alive. The trick is controlling our passion. I have to help her.
Sanjuro looked at Mitsouko knowingly "like I said Mitsouko I will help you in this matter. I will not reveal this to Kenpachi. That is your choice, and I will honor your decision. I also ment what I said about not letting anything hurt you. All I ask is you just look at him. Really look at him, and see him. He loved your cousin truly. That enough is to be honored. Blessed are those to feel the touch of Benten among their hearts for it is the greatest treasure that anyone could possess."
Sanjuro smiled at Mitsouko "Lets go deal with this bakeneko as well." In a slight turn in the mood Sanjuro decided to jest just slightly "Besides after this night is done I will make some of my world renown sweet rolls for everyone. That alone is reason to survive the night!" Sanjuro let loose a toothy smile hoping that might provoke a small laugh.

In her head, just not make sense tell this secret to Sanjuro and not to tell to Kenpachi. It was plain simple. She composed a stern face, full of resolve. “I made my choice, Sanjuro-sama. I truly appreciate your concern about my humble person. But it’s time to help Aiko, and Kenpachi.” Said so, Mitsouko took two steps further to the center of the clearing. “Kenpachi-san, you will be told of what Aiko needs you to know. Aiko, my big sister, please, trust me. I will explain the things for him, I will make him understand. He is an honored man. He will forgive you, for the children you bore for him.” All Mitsouko expected is each one of them could understand what she was trying to do.

Sanjuro watched as Mitsouko took the lead and began walking towards Kenpachi. He was proud of her. He had just met her but in that time he had felt her character shine. That sort of thing had always impressed him. Its hard to take a stand especially in matters such as these. This however is where the samurai hold towards a certain tenant, a code that some people in the world just didn't understand or they twisted it to their own means. This however was it at its purest meaning, and Mitsouko was showing just that.
walking over to Kenpachi was one of the longest walks of Sanjuro's life. All he could do is trust that things would end the best possible way. Sanjuro trusted Benten to guide in matters of the heart. Sanjuro stopped a foot behind Mitsouko and to the right towards the forest ever keen on blocking a veiled attack from the forest intended for Mitsouko or Kenpachi. Sanjuro looked at Kenpachi as he noticed them walk up and Sanjuro nodded at him with a serious look in his eyes.

Mitsouko stood by Kenpachi's side, watching his worried face, and with a sweet voice said him a single haiku: “Fingers intertwined In the night falling like stars Bonded souls forever” …. The waka for she was recognized from, came with passion: “One have to choose for family, duty, love the ones who chooses love Choose to be bonded and bent Under the great burden of fault But some moments are so worthy Of this option That everything else turns pale in comparison Neither Rioko Owari opium or finest Doji song can compares The waves of pleasure the simple presence Of the beloved one brings. ... Some beauties are born With the delicacy of blossoming magnolia Her traits are so stunning One can wonder if she is not a Godess. ... But even the sweetest dream Is not flawless And the Lady who possess the Benten’s love Also possessed a single flaw in her core: She was not capable of forget She wasn’t able to go on When she found her twin soul, She wasn’t able to let him go From her heart. Now, When the death stained her pale face forever And took her away from this mortal world Her heart weeps. ... Another blow of life spent Once again severed The ones she loved again taken from her Oh Husband, o brother, How could she beg you pardon She can’t talk to you anymore She can’t be glad for your kind love anymore She can’t even weep for. Let the Fortunes guide us by their will Let the Fortunes create our destiny, our life, our death Let the woods of Toku mountains Weep for her spent beauty Weep for her no more, brother But simply bow for the will of Fate and Love.”
(OCC: let´s fake it was a good love waka, please!)
After saying that, she knew Kenpachi maybe would be questions for her; maybe not. He was silent, somber. Anyway, she was not feeling well in that place, in that situation. She felt again her face hot, feverish, and goosebumps all over her skin. But managed to keep herself still. Waiting for what else may come.

Kenpachi sat down and started petting the cat, in idle thought. She loved someone else. It was not surprising. He cared for her. He even grew to love her. It seemed that she had a love of her own though. The Crane and thier love of poetry. She could have just said it. Still, Mitsouko ment well. Perhaps she thought the beautiful words would soften the blow.
He looked at the ghost of his wife. She seemed ashamed. Kenpachi gave her a wry smile. "You could have told me. You didn't do anything improper." She nodded. Kenpachi rose and the cat walked over to the ghost. "Goodbye for now,"the cat said running into the dark. "and thank you for the fish."
Kenpachi took a long look at his wife. "Hirotomo is big now. He's almost a man." What was he supposed to say? She was gone, his memories would now be clouded with this revelation, but that was no reason to sentence the woman he loved to this condition. "There is nothing to forgive. Go back, our son needs you."
She reached out to touch Kenpachi and he took a step back. She looked taken aback and reached a hand out to him. Kenpachi smiled and shook his head. "Aiko, you need to go back. Don't leave him alone." She reached out her hand one last time, then brought it back and nodded. She looked at Mitsouko, gave her a mysterious smile then vanished. A single, pure white iris bloomed where she stood moments ago.
"I don't want to know his name, Mitsouko-san." Kenpachi said with another wry grin. "When you leave, please take this flower to him. Tell him what happened here."
Kenpachi looked at the moon and began to laugh. "That was not something that normally happens." He turned to Sanjuro. "Did you say something about sweet buns, Sanjuro-dono?"

OH. That was a bit frustrating. Mitsouko could perfectly understand Kenpachi was nervous, hurt and confused. But she truly didn’t expect him to laugh afterall. But…Some men used to do that when having their hearts broken. A denial, ne? This weird and sad evening… It seemed to be enough for now. But of course, she would strongly recommend a shugenja to check this out. Anyway, she and Aiko’s ghost now learnt that Kenpachi was not aware of the name of her cousin’s lover. Seemed to be enough to send Aiko’s eerie shadow away for this night. But… She wasn’t sure Kenpachi still welcome her in the investigation affairs. She brought him bad, bad news. Mitsouko stood still, at the same place, looking at the iris. She was surely feeling ill, but tried to manage to hide the fact, to doesn’t bother the Toku samurai. Her mind a bit numb. (OCC: She’s poisoned, but still doesn’t know of it).
