To Hida Tetsuro, for your hard work in giving us all a place to commune with others as well as in private, my clan and I offer you a gift, this exquisite daisho with brilliantly made hand crafted art. I hope you will accept this gift, not as a replacement for the weapons you have used since gempukku, but as a token of gratitude representative of a new beginning. You have the unerring gratitude of the Scorpion Clan. *Bows*

I am..astounded, Senshi-sama. I had not pictured that my work would do anything except allow everyone to communicate more openly and easily. I am honored that you would make a gift of gratitude. Normally I would decline such things as I had not done it for the gifts, but I feel that doing so would be, well, very disrespectful of such a generous thing.
The Daisho shall sit with pride in my hall. This gift will be remembered and this humble Crab personally thanks you for your gift. The Scorpion are many things, but boring will never be one of them.
*bows* Thank you, Senshi-sama, Scorpion Clan Champion.

*Puts his hand over his mouth in shock* But still, this matter can only be settled via duel, of testubos!

I will overlook this lapse in etiquette, due to the sheer fact that I surprised him with the gift. It shows instead not that its worth refusing twice, but rather that the gift itself inspires true awe and reverence that one forgets their manners. I am satisfied, and see no reason to have my skull caved in tonight via crab held tetsubo.

What is this thing called Etiquette?!? I am a Crab!
(OOC: Setsuro isn't as wordsy as most people. He can summon up some words when absolutely necessary, but don't expect a whole lot from him in the etiquette or courtier departments. Now, if you want something smashed, he's definitely the man for the job. Plus, he offered a return gift as well, sort of. You kind of got a "Setsuro Favor", as opposed to a Crab Favor. Bwahahaha.)
His gift was in fact so awe-inspiring with it's hand-crafted glory and beauty that even I, a simple Crab, could understand the true incredible might and wonder this gift held. Also considering what he is giving me a gift for, if I refused, I would have to say my work and devotion to the Emperor and Empress was nothing. My devotion to them is of the highest caliber and I would NEVER dare say a bad thing about them. I would never disgrace myself in such a way.
So, *bows to Senshi, then turns to the direction of Toshi Ranbo and bows once more*

Oooc: Shouldn't weapons and armor be presented as gifts only by a samurais lord,or the emperor or one of his direct representatives (read imperial) otherwise the gift is seen as an insult indicating that the samurais lord can't attend to his vassals needs???
I would immagine a crab not following etiquette...but what about the scorpion clan champion insulting his friend...
Anyway just joking...I imagine that he was offered the option to commission such a work of art...

OOC: There are exceptions to that rule (The Crane-Lion friendship started with a Katana we gave to the Lion). It's all about how you present the gift, if you give it as an piece of art not as an weapon everything is fine (just don't imply that the daimyo of the receiver is not capable of equipping his men).

OOC: Also Rokugani place an incredible amount of emphasis on historical gifts. I mean it could even be the horse shoe from Utaku Shelia on the day of the famous battle of the Field of Grass. So you could frame you weapon or armor gift in that manner as well. For instance, "I have brought you a gift Hida-san. This was the No-Dachi used by Hida Yakamo during his Gempukku journey into the Shadowlands. He lost the blade in battle with the many horrors there, but a recent expedition managed to reclaim this relic, and by providence of fate it found its way into my hands. Now I have the honor of returning it to the Crab clan. May this humble gift please you, Hida-san."

OOC: Also, following up on Kenshi's note, the katana given to the Lion was originally intended to be a gift to them. So, really, it was a millennial fulfillment of the ancestors' wishes, therefore greatly honorable.
