So, pretty much what the title says: what are we Dragon to do? Who will we support?
Up until now I was supporting Kaneka all the way, but... overthrowing the Emperor? This is so HUGE I want to know how our Clan (or at least the experimenced players) stands on this one.

He had a claim once, being the oldest son of the previous Emperor, but he relinquished it (as did Sezaru) in the name of the current Emperor. It was likely on the premise that he would do a good job and be worthy of the honour.
Unfortunately it hasn't quite worked out that way.
I will add that the Emperor's quick response, rather than asking for mediation or saving he will show mercy to his brother - and not delving into the rumours of attempted assassinations or outright dismissing them - shows that he was always plotting against Kaneka and forever saw him as a thread. All he had to do was publicly demand Kaneka's head and Kaneka would have given it to him.
Instead, the false Emperor's weaknesses have manifested themselves and caused this situation which will likely lead to civil war. For the most part, the Dragon are in support of Kaneka for he embodies all the qualities that an Emperor should.

Haha, they don't all blindly follow you Koichi. Be careful of your arrogance. They may support you in general but not over this

I do not expect or even require them to follow me Yuusha. They know what is right, they follow their own hearts and minds.

Then you admit that they are equally likely to support Kaneka? I think with so many prominent Dragon, yourself excluded, in support of the Shogun - that will surely inspire them to side with Kaneka. I therefore repeat my original statement - for the most part, the Dragon are in support of Kaneka. If it pleases you, I will say at present. Situations do change. I am not foolish enough to believe that Kaneka is some perfect man that can make the Empire a utopia in a day. I merely and most humbly suggest that he is now the most worthy to be Emperor, he has a valid claim - just because he surrendered it does not mean the grounds for it are forgotten by Heaven, and the false Emperor is incompetent.
Would you at least agree that there are many festering wounds in the Empire at present and these need to be eradicated? I do not feel the current Emperor will do so. However, I do worry that an emerging civil war may make the process tougher when we do get to it. Still, I have faith that Kaneka would eradicate negative elements and would do so without hesitation

Well, I am of a mind to support Kaneka, but it would be interesting if the Clan notables did likewise. Also, I'm willing to support the Hantei if presented with a sound reasoning.

I myself support Kaneka fully - he is a good friend and strong ally.
I will add that I support him "personally", and while I exhort my clansmen to follow my lead, I will not, as Champion, command it - this is a decision with potentially dire repercussions on both sides, and I encourage all Dragon to meditate on this, and to choose whom their honor guides them to.
My view is this - Hantei is weak. Under his reign Rokugan has been corrupted by vice and greed. Access to court is by koku and fine kimonos, not deeds and armor. Kaneka offers us the promise of an Emperor who will lead Rokugan to greater security and glory. I choose Kaneka.
Currently, our clan is divided on the issue: the Clan Champion and Mirumoto Daimyo (that is I, Mirumoto Takezo) support Kaneka, as does the Kitsuki Daimyo (Kitsuki Tuushahime) while the Tamori daimyo supports Hantei (Tamori Koichi). The Togashi daimyo hasn't declared either way, to my knowledge.
Tamori Koichi has always clashed on many issues with Mirumoto Takezo, but he has always been respected for his wisdom - and he still is. Nevertheless, considering the severity and nature of this division, it looks as though it may well sunder our clan... this is hardly an issue to take lightly!

The Togashi daimyo hasn't declared either way, to my knowledge. I doubt he will, that definitely wouldn't be like him at all (if the position thread is still up to date) ;D And I think I will follow my family daimyo's example on this subject...

Well, the Togashi have never been particularly "political". Or even "comprehensible", for that matter ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

My most sincere apologies, I pledged my support to the Hantei before finding this thread. I'd hate to need committ seppuku (a 4th time...same name). Its not something one recovers from easily! (Still haven't reached the Lvl 100+ I had back in March...) I'm standing by my pledge, but I'll try to obey the clan on other issues before it gets me into any more trouble! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
