*Shoju puts on the mod hat for a second*
Sorry for a mini wall o text
My main position on the whole IC/OC fun post thing here in the News threads has been simple.
1.) These are not official RP posts.
2.) These are not official RP posts.
3.) These are NOT official RP posts.
like Fight Club, these are the rules. If you cannot understand them, I suggest you re-read them.
4.) This type of posting is not intended to be serious. no Flaming. Senshi, Kasumi, and Setsuro have all made posts about this getting testy. If we cannot keep this civilized, This thread will be closed, and we will have to clamp down on the behavior in the News Forum. This could possibly include the outright ban on these types of posts.
5.) From here on out. Watch your tone. If you think that your post could be misunderstood, it probably needs edited, or not posted. No flaming will be tolerated
6.) I have tried to nurture this type of posting in this thread. But... Why would I do that? Look around you members of the EE forum Community. Look in this thread. You probably see people that you don't normally bump into on the boards if you are an RPer. There are some "new" type people posting here.
My goal is to allow this as a way to 'ease' people into RPing here. My goal is to get people intercting here.
But, we cannot allow this to continue if it is going to make people unhappy, cause hurt feelings, hurt the community.
7.) Please be mindful of your posting. If you have a lot to say, PLEASE format it into easily readable paragraphs. If you are not a native english speaker who struggles with that (we have some non native english speaking members, and I don't want to single them out and say they can't post), a good rule of thumb is around 3-4 sentences per block of text. it makes it easier to read.
8.) Have fun. I mean, look at my posts. I say wildly crazy things in these threads that I would never say "IC" in a room full of samurai. When I state an opinion, it's more IC leaning than OC, but it certainly isn't meant to be taken seriously or offensively.
9.) Keep the language PG please. Some people are posting on breaks at work / during work / etc... and language has been mentioned as an issue.
10.) Remember. This is fun. If things aren't fun, then eventually people stop doing them. I don't want to see that happen here.
