For those of you who don't know, Shoju will be dying at some point in the future. Yamuso is currently an NPC / Alt type of mine, and I plan on RPing with him once Shoju passes.
Yamuso School: Originally Mirumoto Bushi, Currently Order of the Spider Monk Age: Mid to Late 40's. Hair: none Eyes: black
Physical Appearance Yamuso is a fairly standard build for a Rokugani man of his age. Maybe slightly taller, but nothing noticeable. His body exhibits no sign of any hair. No arm hair, chest hair, facial hair, no hair on his head. He has a sleek and strong and athletic frame, not muscle builder quality. His facial features seem muted. As if they aren't really fully developed. His nose is small and slight, his nostrils seem smaller. His lips are thin lines, his eyes seem smaller.
Normally Yamuso can be seen clad in simple fabric pants, occasionally, with a sleeveless shirt on, but most often, his chest is bare. His head is often covered with a jingasa, or his face covered by a full face Mempo in the stylings of an imposing Dragon.
His torso has recently become an elaborate tapestry of tattoos. His back covered with what seems to be a treatise on the Shourido philosophy of Will, his Chest, the body of a black dragon, whose tail wraps down his right arm, the head and neck down his left.
Background Yamuso was once a Mirumoto Samurai, who reached Gempukku age in the late 1120's. He was accompanied the Kitsuki to Otosan Uchi after the kidnapping of Toturi I, and worked closely with them in the aftermath searching for Toturi.
It was during this time that He fell to the lying darkness, and was its pawn. Slowly, the darkness turned him, he was doomed to becoming one of the Faceless. He fought against his fate, and before the battle of Volturnum, when the Lying Darkness and the Goju were defeated, Yamuso had fought and won his own freedom from the power of the Nothing. His fight left him scarred from his time, and his face never fully returned.
Yamuso declined the chance to join the freed Men as Akodo, and traveled as a ronin, until Daigotsu showed him that he was a Paragon of Shourido, and Will. It was Yamuso's Will that saved him.
Yamuso became a staunch follower of Daigotsu, and served him in many capacities. He has trained others in the ways of Shourido. He even served with Chuda Shoju when the Spider made their offer to the Hantei dynasty at the beginning of the Brother's War.
Currently Yamuso is currently in the service of the Spider. He was recently relinquished after allowing himself to be captured at the battle of Toshi Ranbo. He is back in the Shadowed Dojo, meditating, looking for the understanding of the war, the Empire it will create, and the his orders place in it.

Post by Utaku Mai on Feb 17, 2012 15:12:41 GMT -5
I posted this to the uni forum ages ago, but I've updated it slightly for the public. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Name: Utaku Mai School: Utaku Battle Maiden Age: 18 Role: Badass, Rockstar Infamy: 0 Taint: 0 History: Mai was born to Utaku Yun-Li (and can trace her matrilineal line to Otaku herself) and Daidoji Kuzon, a fairly high-ranking officer in the Daidoji military force. While she spent some of her youth in her father's lands learning of the Crane's practices of strategy and tactics, she felt herself suffocating within the rigid walls and rules of the Crane, and her heart longed for the openness of the unicorn lands, where stories of the battle maidens were sung under the stars. She came to the Utaku lands to train as a battle maiden, and successfully joined their ranks at her gempukku. Until recently Mai has mostly been travelling at the behest of her mother to keep the peace in their holdings of Bikami and Akami. Mai committed herself to defending the peasantry from the bandits and occasional ronin who threatened their livelihood and way of life, and as a result they are all quite loyal to her. Mai enjoyed a life of relative peace and satisfaction and may have lived her entire life with little fanfare outside of the Utaku lands, but the Yobanjin attack at Mountain Watch Keep changed everything. She saw valiant men fighting to defend their homes hewn down like cattle. Her mother had forbidden her from fighting at the Keep, so she rode to the unicorn's allies begging on behalf of her clan for assistance, only to have the imperials, locked in the safety of their castles and positions, look the other way. In Mai's mind it was Kaneka's action, done without the emperor's permission, that saved her lands from the Yobanjin, though tragically, it came too late to save her mother. She was commanded to engage the enemy with her troops but died protecting others when her forces were overrun, only days before Kaneka's army had arrived. This gave Mai something of an attitude toward her military superiors if she ever feels like their orders would cause unnecessary loss of life at little tactical gain, and made her lack any fear in expressing doubt in their plans, especially when (with her background in Daidoji tactics) revealing fatal flaws in established plans and protocol. She works best when given an objective to achieve rather than a set list of orders. Her attitude and temper tends to make her a pariah even among her own clansmen, but Mai remains fiercely loyal to the empire, her clan, and to the protection of the innocent. With her mother's recent loss weighing heavily on her mind, she pledged her loyalty to Kaneka as Toturi III, the rightful emperor of Rokugan. Hantei Naseru's inaction was criminal, and led to a huge and unnecessary loss of life, and Mai wants him to face justice. After pledging her support to Toturi's cause, Mai spent considerable time recruiting cavalry troops in her holdings, and many peasants, already devoted to the samurai who protected them so many times, willingly followed her to Toshi Ranbo where they fought alongside the Lion forces to take the city, though Mai felt deeply responsible for the lives that were lost in that cause, especially knowing that Naseru managed to evade their grasp. Appearance: Mai is built like a rider -- short (about 5'2") with a lean, muscular build that has no trouble wielding a katana, lance, or bow, though she tends to favor a katana when possible. She has long black hair that reaches her waist (though it is often pulled back when she is wearing armor), and dark brown eyes. Mai wears armor that looks brand new, but is made from plates and pieces that belonged to her mother. Ren, Mai's Utaku mare, is slightly smaller and leaner than your average unicorn steed, though she performs as well or better than many of the other utaku lines. She has silvery grey and white coloring, with a long fine mane that floats in the slightest wind. She is the stuff of poetry and art, as her nearly ethereal look is very similar to what you would find described of the original Ki-Rin. Mai finds no greater pleasure in the world than riding with Ren against the winds and sunrise of the plains. Advantages: Great Destiny Way of the Land Social Position (rank 1 or 2) Disadvantages: Claustrophobic Brash Short

Name: Doji Arisu School: Doji Courtier Age: 18 Hair: White Eyes: Grey/blue
Appearance: Doji Arisu typically wears her typically Crane white hair in two long pony tails down her back, held in place by simple gold rings with her clan's mon enameled in pale blue. The sides of her hair are likewise pinned back, giving her features as youthful a countenance as possible.
Befitting her status as unmarried Arisu wears furisode kimonos depicting scenes from her Crane homelands in a variety of blues and whites, all intricately embroidered and dyed. Her obi matches the colour of her eyes perfectly, the mesh of threads often appearing to change colour in different lights. The opening fold of her furisode tends to be more revealing than would be considered proper, although her typical pose would cover this with the sleeves the tantilising hint of what is revealed beneath often causes distraction (to Arisu's hidden amusment) - a trick picked up while visiting Scorpion lands.
Doji Arisu's plain facial features and average size caused her to blend in at the Crane court, but her graceful presence and family colouring made her stand out when visiting other clans.
Background: Arisu is the fifth and youngest child of a Daidoji mother and a Doji father. While her elder siblings followed their mother's footsteps and became bushi, the more gentle Arisu found her speed in her thoughts and wit rather than with a blade. Following her father's footsteps she became a courtier, and shortly after her gempukku took the opportunity to travel to other Clan's courts.
Arisu's pleasant manner suited her to be a goodwill ambassador for the Crane, but she was always keen eyed and quick to learn on the different subtleties and courtly styles of her hosts, while picking up a myriad of experiences and stories that contributed to her entertaining charm.
Currently: Arisu's ambitions aim much higher than might be expected, she eventually hopes to become a regular attendant of the Imperial court and has taken the opportunity of the Hantai's choice of bride from her own family to try and insinuate herself further with the Otomo.

((OOC: I’d like to post up the back story for my alt char Daigotsu Kiyomi – on FB as Kiyomi Susumu [yes, the original concept for the character is about nine years in the future of where the boards are atm… oops, my bad!] So I’d love some feedback on the background and details as my splat books are a little lot out of date, I’m also willing to farm her out as an antagonist should you need one for an RP plot *end of plug* )) Name: Daigotsu Kiyomi School: Daigotsu courtier Age: Early 20s Hair: Black with hints of deep purple Eyes: Lilac/Silver Appearance: Kiyomi wears her long hair loose, allowing it to fall and hide her unusually elongated almond shaped face. Her only augmentations are a pale pink flower made of gauzy fabric tucked into her ear – a relic of her former life, and the mark of the Ninth Kami flowing over her right shoulder and down her upper arm, exposed by the oversized kimono that hangs over her shoulders, revealing her back were it not covered by her thick hair. Kiyomi has the sleeves of the outdated black and grey garment tied by ribbons around her biceps, saving the kimono sliding off her slight frame completely. Narrow, downward slanting eyes under matching angled eyebrows seem to regard everything and everyone with suspicion, and it has been said that her narrow mouth with naturally peachy, pouty lips has never once had a smile come upon it. Background: Kiyomi’s mother was an ambitious Bayushi courtier, earning herself a high position within the Scorpion Clan before being wed to a Hida, an arrangement that had been agreed several years prior to cement ties between the two clans. The Bayushi dutifully wed her aging groom, but not many were surprised to see her return to court from Kyuden Hida a few months later, her husband having died of ‘natural’ causes. “Once their shell is off they’re as vulnerable as any in a bedchamber” she was fond of commenting. Rumours were abound regarding herbs that had been smuggled into crab lands to aid the demise of the unfortunate groom, but when a daughter was issued at least some credence was given to the Bayushi’s story. Shortly after the celebration of Kiyomi’s birth her mother soon refocused on her ambitions within the clan and Kiyomi found herself frequently drifting between residences of both her Scorpion and Crab extended families, not feeling settled with either clan. Kiyomi found herself caught up in Daigotsu’s attack on the Carpenter Wall – even at a distance she could sense his sheer malevolent power. The experience of seeing Hida Kuon defeated thus was to haunt and influence her young, troubled mind. Kiyomi began her training at the Dojo of Lies, but her sensei never felt she was entirely focused. He was unwilling to submit her for her gempukku until she was a couple of years older than her fellow students. When the day finally came Kiyomi, like all Scorpion, was caught unawares by the true ceremony after the guests had left. She believed her answers showed a good degree of observation, and felt her heart sink as she was presented with a mere scrap of cloth rather than a mask and the explanation that she had failed. Holding back tears of shame and with as much dignity as she could muster she fixed the cloth over her face – noticing the gauzy pink fabric with a frayed edge and interrupted yellow embroidery of a lilac. Kiyomi recognised it; a tear from her undergarment she had worn while spurring the overly aggressive advances of a male whom now clearly sought to seek revenge for her refusal. With hatred and revenge burning in her heart Kiyomi made her way to Crab lands at first light. Weeks turned into countless months as Kiyomi buried herself in research with the Kuni, using stealth, bribery, blackmail and even seduction to find out all she could about the shadowlands. When she was ready she slipped out past the guards and headed to the City of the Lost where she dedicated herself to Daigotsu and the Spider Clan, realising an ambition that had been too long in coming.

Post by Hida Joji on Apr 23, 2012 11:43:20 GMT -5
Name: Hida Joji School: Hida Bushi Age: Early 30s Hair: Greasy Black hair Eyes: Black eyes within unhealthy yellow eyeballs. Physical appearance: Hida Joji is about 1,80m (almost 6’00), and used to look like an Hida poster-boy, now his whole appearance is that of someone with a high fever but with the energy of an over-active young boy. His clothes consist of low quality travelling clothes, stained with blood and dirt. On his belt rests a Daisho of Dragon origin, obviously looted from a vanquished foe.
His expression is usually tense and his nervous energy radiates from him making him fidget constantly, every minute Joji coughs up some black fluid and spits it out. His voice is very deep and he always talks in a loud voice, no one remembers seeing him sleep peacefully as his rest goes hand-in-hand with nightmares and fits of coughing. The taint is eating him alive while keeping him active and very very strong.
As a young man Joji was a promising Samurai, dutiful skilled and with a knack for hunting in the shadowlands. While hunting group of Lost his patrol went too far for too long and while they hunted their quarry the price to pay was 1 week without foid, water or jade. Food was easy to ignore as every animal in the shadowlands is an enemy and their flesh is always foul, water, however, flows clear and inviting in some places and taint is everywhere. When the patrol returned, those in it where tested and all where tainted. Everyone but Joji renounced their status as Samurai, renounced everything except the tie with the clan and joined the Dammed to atone for their “betrayal” by dying in battle hurting the enemies of the Crab. Joji however saw this severing of relations as waste of men. His patrol had hunted the Lost, survived the shadowlands, survived in the shadowlands against all hope and now they where choosing to die in a meaningless melee? No for me, thought Joji.
Now 10 years later Joji is an experienced warrior, a hardened veteran and tainted beyond all hope of salvation. He has never been stronger, broken bones heal in a day, flesh knits in minutes and even fingers grow back as fast as fresh bamboo shoots. He has been killed 5 times, Jogoku spits him out again immediately after his last heartbeat. Every time Joji feels he left a part of himself behind, with every death he loses some connection with his past, with every death Joji is a long step closer to becoming one of the Lost.
Joji has 2 things to do before he kills himself, get Kaneka where he needs to be and to show the empire that even if he burns himself out, he has done more for his family and clan more than if he lived 100 years as a weak man and certainly a lot more than any Dammed. The need to prove the worth of his existence consumes him, his duty to Kaneka and clan is the part of himself he cannot lose.
Recently and to keep a part of the burning of Swift Sword with himself, he took a Daisho from a Dragon Kensai. To his surprise the weapon gives him a moment’s peace when he cleans it, Joji is sure it’s spirit will be corrupted along with himself.

Shiba Gunichi

OOC> While the FB game version of this guy is an Enlightened hombre with all kinds of neat toys and friends in every clan and a marriage to a Scorpion bride, this is a more interesting (to me) character.
Name: Shiba Gunichi School: Shiba Bushi Age: 30 Hair: Black, worn shoulder-length Eyes: Hazel, pronounced crow's feet. Physical appearance: Shiba Gunichi is a lean, unassuming man of average height, with sharp, well-defined features and vaguely vulpine cast to his face. He goes clean-shaven, and moves with the elegant grace of a superbly conditioned athlete.
His expression these days is often grim, and those who know him well claim that he smiles, on average, once each decade.
His sartorial sense is decidedly lacking- the amount of time Gunichi has spent in the remotest corners of the Phoenix lands has done little to polish his sense of fashion. He favors well-worn clothing, little better than what a peasant would wear, but comfortable and functional. His armor, notable for the dark shade of red used in the lacquer, is fairly lightweight, and his helmet is a simple metal jingasa with the mon of the Phoenix in orange worn to the front. His daisho, in contrast to his generally rough appearance, is exquisitely clean and well-maintained.
Biography to Date Gunichi's early years were fairly unremarkable. While his gempukku fell in time for a Topaz Championship, he was not selected to represent the Phoenix in any capacity- his iaijutsu skills were sub-par, and he was notably lacking courtly graces.
However, he had an agile mind and a gift for unconventional tactics.
As poor duelists make poor yojimbo, for the most part, Gunichi was packed off to a remote castle near the coast where he moldered in obscurity, occasionally taking to the sea to battle the pathetic excuses for pirates that passed through when not immersed in esoteric lore in the rather scattershot library of the castle.
The slow times came to an end when the Empire erupted in civil war. While Gunichi is generally apolitical, he followed his Clan into support of the Hantei, a decision that has started to trouble him of late. Sent to aid the Emerald Champion at Crossroads Castle, he came into his own.
His iaijutsu may have been mid-tier at best, his social skills may have been questionable, but his kenjutsu and small-unit tactics were well-honed, and he won a fair amount of personal glory in the battle.
He also found himself troubled by doubts. While nowhere near the pacifist of Phoenix stereotype, he had great respect for the samurai of the Lion Clan, men and women whom he faced in honorable battle, and helped to defeat. After executing some looters at Crossroads Castle, he received special orders to go to the Dragon army besieging the Castle of the Swift Sword as a courier. Arriving at an inopportune moment, Gunichi found himself embroiled in yet another assault, and once again, fighting the samurai of the Lion Clan.
As the situation grew more desperate, he thought of fighting his way clear and trying to bring word of the Dragon's plight to the army of the Emerald Champion. He needn't have bothered.
The Dragon unleashed a hellish barrage of alchemical fire, reducing the storied Castle of the Swift Sword to molten slag, along with the overwhelming majority of its defenders.
The Dragon's fiery assault had left nothing worth defending or holding, and the retreat of the Shogun's army impressed Gunichi less than the smell of burning human flesh. As he surveyed the ruined heap and the charred remnants of honorable foes who had defended their home to the last, the Phoenix samurai began wondering if anything was worth such total destruction.
He is taking his time getting back to the Phoenix forces arrayed with the Emerald Champion.

Updated! Name: Isawa Mitsuru Clan: Phoenix Occupation: Void Shugenja Mitsuru is the unmistakable product of a very traditional family. His mother and father are both Isawa Shugenja who were married in a politically advantageous betrothal for both sides of the agreement. Even though his mother actively studies in the home library, she is a dutiful housekeeper and overseer of the family estate. His father, Kenta, is a thaumatological researcher in the Isawa libraries. Given that, both parents are possessed of the gift to speak with the kami it was not entirely surprising when the family was visited by the shugenja Gomaru shortly after Mitsuru's birth. What was more surprising was the preparatory void rituals that Gomaru performed during his initial visit. Mitsuru was raised with the expectation of fulfilling his duty to the phoenix clan by becoming an Ishi shugenja. From a young age he was taught that his gifts were special and rare, even among Rokugan's priests, but that he was still equally responsible to be an honorable member of his family and clan. There is no difference in the parental pride shown for Mitsuru's accomplishments and those of his younger sister, Aramine, who walks the Path of Earth. Mitsuru was trained by his sensei to believe in the infinite capabilities of magic. Gomaru instilled in his pupil the ideal of ultimate arcane strength and the efficacy and difficulty of gaining said power. Mitsuru took these lessons to heart and strives after ever greater mystic understanding. Due to a series of recent misadventures, Mitsuru finds himself thrust forcefully into a more adult position. Mitsuru was put in charge of an investigation of a murder allegedly committed by one Daigotsu Yoee. While leading a prisoner to the City of the Lost, Mitsuru and the caravan accompanying him were attacked by an oni summoned by the Book Keeper, a Spider clan madman. Thereafter, Mitsuru became unsure of his place in the world and his own capabilities and potential. A visit from his old master helped him regain his bearings and he finds himself with a new lease one life. Because of his experiences with Shadowlands magic and its infiltration to the very court of the Hantei, Mitsuru has resolved to do his best to purge maho wherever he finds it. what path this could ultimately lead him down is yet to be seen. (OOC: Felt it needed an update.)
Name: Yasuki Chad School: Hiruma Bushi School 5/ Yasuki Merchant 1 Role: Yasuki Family Daimyo
Character description/personality: Does not look like a typical Yasuki, with strong gaijin features. Hair is kept short and has a brown-red tint to it. Tanned from the sun. Arms and hands are scarred from blades and claw. Wears Heavy armor that is of Exceptional quality and bears the Mon of the Crab over the chestplate, with the Yasuki mon over the Right arm. In court dresses in the most curret styles popular in the emperors court. He is judgmental, honorable, and friendly.
When Kaneka Claimed the Title of Emperor he was the second to step forth and reaffirm his loyalty, beaten by seconds by the Tamori Daimyo. He spent the next weeks preparing Toshi Ranbo for a Siege. The news of his Clans support of Kaneka and their decision to attack the Crane shocked him to the Core. He did what he could to move the pro-Hantai crab to toshi ranbo in the time after that decleration and before the war broke out in earnest. He dealt closely with Chuda (Now Tamihei) Shoju in preparing the defenses, and when the Spider were ejected from the Capital he volunteered his own men to take replace them.
He had planed to die activating the Gatehouse trap but was knocked out by his Yojimbo (Yasuki Koji) who took his place. He failed to hold the West gate against the Akodo Vanguard and was defeated in personal combat by Akodo Keisuke. He was severley wounded in the 1st Battle of Toshi Ranbo and only survived by the direct order of Akodo Keisuke.
Following his Release as a Guest of the Lion, made his way to Seawatch Castle and participated in that unpleasentness. The Seige knowledge he and his troops brought to the Crane proved instramental in repealing the Mantis assault. Kakita Alesha's betrayal and maho ritual at seawatch so damaged the Yasuki House Guard that they effectivally ceased to exist as a military unit. He dismissed what survivors there were back to the Black Crane palaces and Went north with the Crane Leadership to participate in the Winter Court.
Agasha Shodai discovered some connection between Chad and the Former Kakita Daimyo, a known Kolat, but told only Kakita Battou about it.
Age: 28
History: Grandfather came to Rokugan with the Moto with Shinjo, but was not one of them. Fought in the battle that ended the Dark Moto and by his valor exposed Moto Tsume to attack, though he died doing so. Took his name at Gempukku. Regrets that decision now that he is Daimyo and secretly is shamed by it. Competed well in the Topaz Championships and was offered magistratal postion because of it. Served as magistrate for 4 years, before being recalled to fufill clan duties on the wall. Was appointed Yasuki Daimyo after the still unsolved murders of his uncles entire family. Unlike past Yasuki Daimyo's was trained as a warrior first and actually spent time an the battlefield after his appointment. Leads from the front, a habit that has nearly gotten him killed numerous times but that has engendered a fierce loyalty among his House Guard. Watches the civil war grow with mounting apprehension. Believes unknown parties are manipulating Kaneka and the Emperor with the express purpose of weakening the Empire prior to some calamitous attack. Also recognizes that if this is true, he has been trapped far to well to do much about it himself.
Spouse: None
Advantages: Paragon of Duty, Social Position (Daimyo), Allies (Many, though primaraly Crane and Dragon at the moment), Forbidden Knowledge (Kolat), Leadership, Hands of Stone, Tactician
Disadvantages: Dark Secret (Killed previous Yasuki Daimyo, his family, and household staff when he discovered he was Kolat. Wanted to be sure the corruption was cleansed but there was not proof nor testimony after the fact to exonerate such a murder. Took over the investigation partly to keep himself above suspicion.), Permanent wound, Bad fortune (Disfigurement, arms), Idealistic

Post by Tamori Koichi on Apr 28, 2012 5:41:29 GMT -5
Quite long overdue but unfortunately will not be much of use anymore. This is a wall of text. I apologize. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Name: Tamori Koichi School: Tamori Shugenja/Tamori Yamabushi/Kolat Agent Role: Tamori Daimyo (retiring)/Kolat Master Age: 28 Advantages: Heart of Vengeance (Lion), Irreproachable (Loyalty to the Hantei), Magic Resistance, Touch of the Furnace (Breath of Heaven's Fire), Blessing of the Elements (Earth and Void) Disadvantages: Dark Secret (Kolat Master), Sworn Enemy (Kaneka) As one of the former daimyo Tamori Shaitung's most stalwart agents, Koichi was forged in battle. Life was simple back then, only following orders to root out bloodspeaker cells and destroy the influence of jigoku when they manifested in the Empire. Koichi was also a Kolat agent. Since his tasks as Shaitung's agent did not conflict with his duties to the Kolat, Koichi maintained strict devotion to his quest of annihilating the spawns of evil. During the War Against the Yobanjin, Koichi had volunteered himself to join in protecting the Unicorn lands from the invaders. Even though he disliked the Shogun and his attitude, Koichi had fought alongside the man since in his mind what he was doing was not for Kaneka but for the Empire. It came as a surprise to him when he was summoned back and learned that the Lady Shaitung had gone missing and that he was declared next in line. One not to shy away from duty, Koichi accepted. He led his family using honor to guide most of his decisions. It was favorable at most times, but sometimes it led him into conflict with the other notables in the Dragon council, including the Kitsuki daimyo and even the former Dragon Clan Champion Mirumoto Takezo. Despite heated debates, the Dragon often ended up proving their strength of unity when they had decided on a course of action. Events such as the rebuilding of Kyuden Tonbo and the Battle at Mountain Watch Keep proved this strength. But such strength of unity was not meant to last. After the War with the Yobanjin, the Shogun had declared himself Emperor and waged war against the Hantei. For Koichi it was treason. Without thought, Koichi had gone to the capital and was first to declare loyalty to the Hantei. The trip back to his homeland was not as welcoming. There he was faced with his Champion and a few others who insisted that they follow Kaneka. Koichi could not compromise his honor this time. Their was no reason to betray the Righteous Emperor. While Takezo and the others gathered troops, the Tamori daimyo secretly gathered allies, calling upon favors to call upon support for the Hantei. In the end it had payed off and the people, despite the Dragon Clan Champion's steadfast belief in Kaneka, had chosen to stay loyal to the Righteous Emperor. Regrettably Takezo could not be swayed, choosing to abandon his clan to follow the Shogun, taking along with him several Dragon. Koichi was left with a disjointed clan with him as the de-facto champion. He did not like it but again he did his best to lead it. He needed something to rally the Dragon with. And then the Bloom of the White Orchid presented itself. Koichi, with a small retinue of the Tamori's best shugenja, proved their worth. The Tamori daimyo's success had united his family, rallied their clan and gained his clan a prize that they could use against the rebels. The Dragon Clan decided that the Lion should be punished for ignoring their duty as the Right Hand of the Emperor. The Dragon army mobilized against the Castle of the Swift Sword, in hopes that they could storm the castle and be used in stopping Kaneka's army that was reportedly on their tail. Stories of the Lion's dedication proved true and the obtaining the castle failed. Kaneka's army had arrived and put the Dragon in a tight spot caught between two forces. Desperate in stopping Kaneka, the Tamori alchemists led by their daimyo created an intricate ritual to conjure up a dragon of fire. It reduced the castle to slag incinerating most of the castle's defenders and garnering the Hantei side a win against Kaneka himself. A win at quite a heavy price. The strain of the spell tugged at the Tamori daimyo in all ways, physically, spiritaully and even emotionally. Had they really won? Word of it had already spread, and to many it was going too far. Koichi in the aftermath of the battle has gone to the true Emperor's court to make his report. He had done everything in service to the Hantei and would not turn back now. If it was the Emperor's decision that he should die for what he did, then he would not question it. He had already entrusted his family to Manji who had proven quite capable during the war. Until such time the Emperor called for his life, he has decided that he would spend it protecting the Empire from Kaneka and continuously guiding the Dragon.
