If/When we get ronin "clan" as an option how about a Musha-Shugyo position.
If memory serves me right that is the tradition of a clan samurai taking off his/her mon and hidding his/her name to travel as a ronin to gain experiance of the world.

I'd like there to be class-specific jobs. Jobs for bushi and shugenja specifically. It's okay for some bushi to have high spellcraft, but to see them doing jobs that only shuggies should be able to do just doesn't feel right to me.

My wish list would consist mainly of more ways to undermine efforts, for example, i do not wish to battle the Yobanjin, I would prefer to support them.
Actions of sabotage or other seemingly evil actions.
There are actions to defend the wall against the south, but there is no action to attack the wall

My wish list currently includes changing the Daidoji family native abilities to include Kyujutsu. It's not only fitting, but after the Naga left and aside from the Mantis, the Crane had the best archers of the Great Clans. As an additional point, the Winter Court competition artwork for the Kyujutsu competition is artwork of Daidoji Akagi. The CCG and storyline also supports this as we have had Daidoji personalities with Ranged Attacks since before I even played the CCG (before Gold Edition). In addition, our current CE Stronghold, Shiro Daidoji, provides a ranged attack. From Samurai Edition, we also have MSD (Mountain Shadow Dojo) which also provided a ranged attack 3 attack.
I'm just saying that it is more inline with the Daidoji to have Kyujutsu than Art.

One thing I would like is more shortcuts. Not that I'm complaining that there's too much to do and too many places to go, but so much of the time spent actually on Emerald Empire isn't spent making decisions on what to do so much as clicking the Perform button x number of times and clicking those arrows over and over. It would be really really nice if you could tell it to perform a task x number of times, or that you wanted to go to place y.
For performing it would show your success / failures, a summary of what you earned, and whether it had to stop because you ran out of a item that's used for the mission. For travelling it would only be to places you've been before; There would be a drop-down menu and you could choose from those locations. The system would then check to see if it can find a route to get to your desired destination using the skills you currently have in regards to moving between two places. If it can find a route it would take you there. If not, it would say you don't have the skill to go to that location.
I know that all must sound terribly lazy, but I don't think the clicking is supposed to be the point of the game anyways; it's supposed to be the choices you make, the way you play the game, the discovery of new places, stories, missions, and etc. The clicking really doesn't have anything to do with what the game experience actually is. In fact, the reason I bring it up is it's my opinion that (rather than be a lazy shortcut) it would allow people to get more into the setting and their characters. It would turn a grind into a little bit more of just a game, an experience. It would also save all some from carpal tunnel and make maps less nessicary, definitely a good thing on both accounts.
There are so many facebook games out there where you can grind things. And I'm sure there are others that play EE that also play World of Warcraft and already have grinds in that or a similar game; experience and levels, progression raiding, grinding professions, faction... the more of the tedious pushing of buttons that can be taken out of EE, the more it can stand apart as something different, something fun rather than another clickfest. Of course, that wouldn't change the fact the game is about clicking at the moment; it would still be a game of clicking perform or move to do things. But I think it really would make a difference for that process to be streamlined. -------------------------------------
My second little comment here has to do with interaction, and just like the one before I'm not entirely sure it's possible; I think it would be really cool if there was a part on the EE interface that showed, from the action screen, what other people have accomplished in the past minute from when you clicked the perform button or arrived at a location. So if you moved to Shiro Mirumoto, it could tell you that Mirumoto Bob has just finished Training with the Yamabushi and Soshi Mary has just Vistited the Story Garden in the past minute (meaning getting them to a mastery level of course).
You could leave out certain things like story missions so that you don't feel like you're doing something that's already been done, but with the basic version I think it would make the world feel more populated if you were seeing the results of people taking actions. Especially in places like Mountain Watch Keep you could see people actively fighting against the Yobanjin, see that you're not alone. Sure one could say the Interact tab is for that; you can see other people are at the same location as you. But it's out of the way and it's just a list of names; it doesn't make the world feel populated because it's seperate and static.
Anyways, I just think both those things would allow the world to flow more as a realm of Samurai, a place where people are doing things and you're doing things. Less like an empty world filled with buttons. A lot has already been done in that regard; the Interact tab, random encouters to make things feel random, the Yobanjin invasion and Winter Court, Story missions... I'm simply making wishes for other things that I feel are intrical parts of the "game experience" as it were.

1. I preffer devs to work on new jobs and items, so far it's no problem for me to travel from one point to anoter. 2. You can see activity of your friends in dynasty. I think it would be much trouble to do what you suggest. Instead i would love it if devs would have stats of how many people undermined and helped peace effort, or how many wanted new trading routes, and shape coming jobs accordingly

Well, it's not so much a "do this instead of making content" thing of course. Just ideas for the future. As far as the second thing, that is also a neat idea Shinji. I guess my things is as long as you're going to aim, aim high. So tthink of the best the game can be, then take the ideas that are most important and do those first. Never settle for just robotically doing things when you could do them with a pas... Bah, I sound like one of those motivational posters.

Kolat goodness. Maybe not as many quests as are targeted to Spider players, but still some, maybe a position and/or kata to go along with it. I'd also love to see a Kolat section on the boards, although I'm not sure how to implement it. Each clan has a private board, and it would be nice if the Kolat did, too, but I can see how it would be difficult.

I must say Kakita blade is a big disappointment. It took me crapload of time to master "Craft Weapons for War" action, and all i got was sword equal to blessed sword (in terms of iaijutsu), that can be obtained pretty fast. Why not at least +20 iai?

Splitting off of something Tadaka said above, I wonder if set bonuses would be appropriate/do-able? I.e. a group of items that grant a particular bonus when all worn at the same time. If so, then adding "Character Clan" as a requirement for some sets seems simple enough (i.e. anybody can wear the set, but only a member of a specific clan can gain the bonus)
