Minimum requirement of taint so people couldn't just use items to access it, perhaps?

100 makes sense because it's the high limit for the most "forgiving" pure actions actions...

That was my thought.
100 puts it out of reach of the people who are goofing with the taint.
Though I had thought about saying:
99 + (total of taint capable to be equipped on gear) + 1
to ensure no abuse of the movement.

Perhaps rather than being taint based this could be clan based? Right now everyone has a 'home' button based on their clan. This could perhaps be changed to a 'clan travel' button that travels to several important destinations for a given clan.
Upon thinking about it further the Spider are the only ones with this unique issue, so for other clans it doesn't make much sense.
I think perhaps the easiest implementation is just make a new travel method and require either Spider clan* or the Mark as a requirement. I could see moderate to high stealth as an additional requirement, but taint seems strange to me. Higher taint would actually make it easier to be detected I would think.
*I like the Spider Clan requirement since it gives a benefit to changing sides, instead of just being tainted.

Part of why I was going with a taint requirement was because there are tainted who aren't spider, and Fields of the Dead, and the City of the Lost provides a "gateway" so to speak for those characters to be able to travel from one "hub" to another.
Yes, Spider would be nice, but the Mark of the Ninth Kami is probably the better way to handle it, since it would ensure that all spiders, and most "tainted" players would have access to it.

This is certainly easier to implement than the "favorites" travel where you can tag X number of rings of locations (x=air?). That would be cool but would add a huge section of new code I'm sure.
I think that in general more travel methods would be good. Another option could be magical travel. I don't think there is any real canon for this, but a "teleport" via the various centers of magical research would be nice (i.e. anywhere with the "train shugenja" actions, for example). I would be tempted to require Spellcraft, but it could be Etiquette to ask for travel or Lore to know how to negotiate the magical roads, for example. Again, this isn't really part of the L5r lore, but it would be useful.

I agree with Hiromitsu, it would be an amusing way to end EE. We could have themed competitions that would fit into battles (like Kenjutsu, Spellcraft, Iaijutsu, Kyujutsu...) or into other interesting situations related to the "end game". Or we could simply have a competition for each skill just to see which characters are strong in which areas (and how strong they are)
