The Shogun's army has joined battle with the Yobanjin in an attempt to lift the siege of Mountain Watch Keep. Early reports indicate very heavy fighting as the samurai of Rokugan battle the barbarian horde.

Heavy Cavalry? An interesting choice Jay-sama.

Mirumoto Takezo, his face blackened with the grime of battle, armor scarred where blade and arrow have glanced away, looks with satisfaction upon his thousand-strong personal guard.

He hands the shogun's newest orders to his hatamoto: "Intelligence reports to the Shogun indicate a weakness in the Yobanjin flank - we are commanded to strike there to break the siege, and push the Yobanjin into open battle, where our cavalry can then attack. Get these orders to the commanders - we attack at once!"

"Hai, Takezo-dono!" The hatamoto rears his steed around, galloping at speed into the assembled forces.

Takezo, taking the lead of his men, looks upon the Yobanjin with grim satisfaction. Turning around, his sashimono snapping in the wind, he raises his swords.

"Dragon samurai, we will fill Jigoku with Yobanjin souls until its very seams will burst!"

And cheering with bloody-minded ardor, they advance.

OOC: Unless there's a secret Unicorn job I'm unaware of, Heavy Cavalry is (i) currently an unavailable drop and (ii) has only been available in the past as a mastery drop, so the most anyone would have is one... making the new "Cavalry Charge" job impossible to complete.

At least to my knowledge?

There is no secret job to attain it but, I only have the one from mastering one of the Shogun cavalry marches. This does not really make it masterable :/

I'm really getting sick of seeing sworn enemy: kaneka blocking me from actions while not enabling anything else. If they were going to just start excluding people from actions it would have been nice to have some warning that suddenly decisions had some effect before getting stuck with a flag I can't ever remove.

Ojii smiled lightly after remouving an arrow from is left shoulder and is blade from a yobanjin that was stalking it the back of is Daimyo Takezo Dono. The old sensei might not be fast on is legs, but is blades where still deadly.

Hai sama! Heavy cavalry, i tought that was Unicorn business? Can you use my 340 heavy infentries instead? :-)

I'm in the same boat as you, but I'd ask everybody who hates the Shogun to be a little more patient. Once the Anti-Kaneka plot starts rolling, we will probably have our turn.

New random Encounter: Traversable Terrain
Options are to spend either a badger favor, unicorn favor (also needs unicorn ally), or just nothing.

The Unicorn option does gain you heavy cavalry!

Where do you get the random encounter? On the battlefield?

It will certainly take awhile to emerald the Cavalry Charge job if one depends on random drops from random encounters
