Pleased by seeing the lovely Mitsuko smile, the Ikoma gives a slight nod before quietly replying, "May that our Clans fight along side one another again." he pauses a moment at the praise and offer, nodding again, "Soon, perhaps, when there is time for such. Maybe after the formalities here are concluded we may find a moment in another chamber for such a reading?" He then considers the kimono brought out for the Champion with a critical eye. He grins behind a fan and murmurs conspiratorially to the Kakita daimyo, "How ever did your tailors find the mighty Champions measurements on such short notice?" the courtier then tips a playful wink towards her.

Listening closely to the various conversations taking place around the room, Taiyo found some peace in the fact that he was from the Buke, and need not intrude into the formal gifting practices the nobilty were engaged in. Much like Kaito-san, he was here in the dual role of defender and military advisor.
Leaning over and whispering into the ear of his comrade, Taiyo expressed his pleasure at how the negotiations seemed to have turned around. Kaito-san, it looks like our swords may remain sheathed this evening after all. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Lion and Crane, chatting politely and drinking tea. What is the world coming too? It has been turned on its head, I tell you!
Turning to Mitsouko and bowing his head to her as she approached to fill his tea Konnichiwa Mitsouko-sama. I am Akodo Taiyo, Shireikan in the Akodo Legions, and Standard Bearer for the Shining Lion. I begin to understand the beauty in the perfection that the Crane are renowned for seeking. Someday, when I have children of my own I will be sure to tell them of the night I spent in the company of perfection, as a guest and recipient of the Crane's hospitality.

One of my eyes cries, but the other smiles Taiyo san.- smiles Kaito while he answers quietly - Playing the role of a courtier doesn't fit to such men as we, but sometimes we have to play this role, or at least support our champion to play it. I hope this will end soon. Daidoji Fitsu sama doesn't seem like a man, who wastes his time, and I like this behavior. Till substance f this negitiation doesn't start just enjoy our tea. Actually it's quite refreshing.
The Matsu warrior leans back, and let his comrade to chat with the Kakita daimyo - she has higher rank, so Kaito won't interrupt their talk, until he's adressed, keeping the ways of etiquette is thought to him too deeply, even sometimes he think they're unnecessary extras.

Unfortunately, Ikoma-san, I don't have the expertise of the Doji daimyo. But I heard some tailors know tailors that know tailors... You know... The well informed net of tailor of Rokugan. She would wink to him acompanying this comment, but she refrained herself at time. With a nod she started to fill the cup of the Lion shireikan, and listened to his words attentively:
Tayo-san, I am pleased to meet you. I promise you that one day you will experience the true Crane hospitality, in true Crane halls, so you will judge by yourself if we deserve such praise from you. Mitsouko softly remember him the Shireikan they are both hosts of the Seppun.
When I was a very little child, my father asked me why I rather liked my "Lion dolls", like i called them, over the white haired ones. He laughed when I said it was because they were different from my other dolls. She finished pouring hot water over his tea leaves.
That’s the charm, Tayo-san. Perfection is something we seek far from home. Maybe I can tell the same about your hospitality, some day.

Naetaru heard the Lion champions response, a typical one fit for Rokugani customs. He remained bowed and carried on.
"Akodo Tomatsu-sama, it would be most unfortunate for an unworthy man to carry a gift fit for the Shining Lion, even back to its creator's hands. It will be fortuitous for the creator if the Champion of the Lion did accept this humble gift. It is a man's honor that glorifies his possessions sama, and we would be an honor to us if you accepted it."

(Apologies, real life has been quite busy. Finals no Oni is looming on the horizon ) As the gift of the journal was presented to her, Natsuki humbly made the ritual two refusals, first insisting that the wisdom of Kakita Neshao should remain with his own clan, then saying that the journal was too precious to take away from his heirs. As the third offer was made, she accepted the diary carefully with her thanks. "I too have a gift for you, Lady Kakita. During my visits to the blessed realm of Yomi, I have been honoured to speak with many of the blessed ancestors. This scroll records some of the advice and wisdom that they saw fit to share. Among those who contributed were Kakita Yoshi-sama, Kakita Kaiten-sama, and Kakita Shimizu-sama, all honoured past leaders of the illustrious Kakita. I pray that the wisdom within will be of aid as you lead your family." After the ritual two refusals and acceptance, the Kakita daimyo turned to speak to the Ikoma daimyo and Taiyo in turn. The mood of the gathering seemed to be improving, and Natsuki felt the tension in the room slowly dissipate. She could feel the eyes of the ancestors upon her, some glaring in disapproval but others looking on in pride. After all, was it not the truest test of courage to overcome any obstacle, even that of one's own prejudices, in serving the Empire? The armies of the Dark Brother were seething once more, and looked ready to threaten the entire Empire. If loyal sons and daughters of Rokugan were constantly at each other's throat, who then would stand against the minions of Jigoku? She observed the Asahina daimyo carefully, then spoke in a quiet voice to her. "Greetings to you, Asahina-sama. I trust that all is well at the Temple of the Morning Sun? It has been too long since I have visited that sanctified place."

Yukihime is patient, like if this meeting could last forever, she waits her time to speak without interrupting any other conversation.
As expected she refuses Akodo-sama's offer twice, accepting it only on the 3rd offer. She receives the mirror offered to her carefully in both hands. "I'm pleased and honored, and my words can't express enough of it. I appreciate this gentle offer and I hope this mirror may carry the history of this day for generations to come"
She bows once more allowing the meeting to proceed without much of her intervention until the oportunity to speak with Akodo Daisuke-san show up.
"Indeed, Akodo-san. I had the pleasure of briefly meeting your father and also spending some time with Kitsu Akane-san. Actually I much owe my presence here to Akane-san as much as to Ikoma Toshi-san." She bowed to Daisuke, always in precise and polite moves. "As much as Akane-san and Jin-sama, it's a honor to meet Akodo Daisuke-san".
Yukihime glanced at Diasuke's offer. She expend just a few weeks in Toshi Ranbo, most setting the infirmary and organizing the shugenja, mostly before the heavy battle begin. And she was only back a few days before the capital fall. Much changed while she was away. Now this gift brings much to her mind, much about how, and if, things could be different. But those were thoughts to be shaken away really quickly, history is a great teacher... and can't be changed. This was, somehow, a heavy 'gift'.
Yukihime bowed finding words and proceed to the two refusals before accepting the flag. (OOC: Let me know if you would like me to write both refusals, not sure how important it may be to Daisuke. I just don't want make the post even longer if not necessary ^^ But if you like I can write it)
Having the flag in hands made her aware of how much prays some of those souls would require. Only the fortunes know how many lifes would have been spared if this truce had come days, or even hours, earlier. Some living ones were still willing to fight, and some of the dead ones surelly didn't gave their lifes for a truce.
The thought made Yukihime look briefly for the Kitsu daimyo. The Kitsu could sense the ancestors, Yukihime doesn't posses such gift, right now she can only guess some of the fallen may be pleased, while some others are frustrated or even angered. She resumed her words to Akodo Daisuke-san.
"I unfortunately have nothing to offer in return right now. Due to my still limited abilities it takes me a long time to create itens I would be proud to gift. But Akodo Daisuke-san and Kitsu Akane-san shall hear from me as soon as I have something worthy of such great samurais to offer. I appreciate your offer, I must compliment Akodo Daisuke-san for taking this from Toshi Ranbo. While it could be just painted fabric to many eyes, Akodo-san was able to find in it a deeper meaning. I'm proud to know some of my clansman carried their duty until the end, and I thank Akodo-san for sharing this piece of history."
Once more, there was some interval before Yukihime voice, always in low tone, is to be heard again.
Now she bows longly to Kitsu Natsuki.
"Fortuitously I have no news of any threats to Asahina lands at the moment. Once it becomes possible the Asahian family would be honored by the presence of Kitsu-sama. Kitsu-sama is welcome to visit our shrines."

But I am a humble Lion and this is clearly a kimono meant for someone who is far more worthy to wear such fine silks than myself. I'm afraid I must decline your wonderful gift again, for a second time. I cannot accept such a wondrous gift as this masterful kimono, Doji-san. It truly humbles me to be considered for such a gift as this masterwork kimono, Doji-san. I only hope that my humble gift for you lives up to such a high standard you have set.
He let a warm smile cross his face, trying to encourage the atmosphere of friendship here, and took a sip of his tea, allowing Naetaru to give the customary third offering.

Naetaru manages a respectful smile. Tomatsu was courteous and a rather noble individual, as expected. His attitude, however, made the whole meeting less stressful and more friendly. He let this thought behind and spoke for once more, addressing the Lion champion. "I beg to differ Akodo Tomatsu-sama. It is but a humble gift that pales in comparison to your magnitude of deeds. Moreover, it is the honor of your name that the Doji family wish to respect by offering this kimono. We can only assure you that in future ages, it will be a new kimono that will adorn the new Lion champion with a finer one, depicting Akodo Tomatsu-sama."((OOC: Leaving for work! Let's keep it rolling guys! Nobody to roleplay with the Doji daimyo? ))

The magnitude of my deeds, Doji-san? What deeds would those be? Certainly I would not expect to have done anything to bring me to the attention of the Doji. Allow me to humbly accept your gift. Once we have a chance to take a break, I will change into it if that is acceptable? Come now Doji-san, sit with Fitsu-san and I and witness history in the making.
He gestured for Naetaru to sit next to him and the Geisha behind him lifted a rather old looking wooden box and offered it to Tomatsu. Tomatsu then placed it down before the seat he offered to Naetaru.
Come please and accept this humble gift. It is the Sumi-e set I had crafted for just such an occasion as this. I had each clan put their particular touch on it, the finest woods from the Scorpion craftsmen, the finest inlays of ivory from the Mantis, the best inks from the Unicorn, so on and so forth. I made sure there was no other set like in existence, Doji-san. Please accept my humble offering that it might help you write kind words to paper.

After the Kakita daimyo had moved on to speak with others, the hefty Ikoma daimyo shifted upon his cushion to take in those present, gauging reactions to gifts, observing faces, body posture and especially their eyes. He ate thoughtfully, maintaining a poise of calm and pleasant face, content to wait for the exchanges to come to conclusion.
( OOC: It would be most rude to interrupt the daimyo speaking directly to one another, Doji-san. We all must wait our turns. )

(OOC: im a rather lazy person so i must say the three refusals is something i'd rather not rp ) Recognizing that he is not a majorly important individual but rather a courtier/bushi sent in his fathers stead, Daisuke bows to the Asahina and replies: "Asahina-sama the greatest gift I could obtain from you, is knowing that I have done my part to help bring peace to the souls of these honorable samurai. I felt as someone who is trusted by my sister, that this duty and this gift would be best continued by yourself Asahina-sama." With that he bowed and let her continue on with her part in the proceedings (OOC: Sorry didn't realize that everyone talking was champion, regent, daimyo, or other majorly important clan official. Daisuke is still young and sometimes prone to minor fits of acting out of place. Thats how i'll explain that anyway, but if possible i'd rather him just have done that after the exchanges between important clan figures and such. Hopefully my lack of etiquette hasn't spoiled too much)

Daidoji Fitsu took in the atmosphere with a good deal of satisfaction. He had not expected the tension to dissipate so quickly, and this change in the air gave him cause to hope.
During a pause in the exchange between the Lion Champion and Doji Daimyo, Tomatsu-san, I admire your humility, you are a paragon of bushido. Please, take this gift as my assertion that you are no simple samurai, but one on whom the future of our Empire depends.

((OOC: Tomatsu, shall we proceed the 2-refusal gift giving process, said to have been done properly? Twice in a row is a bit tiring. If not, I will be doing it as proper.))
The Doji daimyo nodded properly, before set in motion he noticed his champion. After he had finished, he motioned over his servant and he quickly resumed his new position. As the gift was offered to himself he accepted it in reverence as the Rokugani custom demanded.
"I'm afraid a Doji's gratitude isn't enough for such a gift. I thank you for the honor you grant me."
For the time he kept silent as the champions exchanged pleasantries and words. He would be speaking in time...

(Of course, I only do the two refusals as it gives me something handy to mill out when I'm in a hurry and need to post, I won't be offended unless your trying to do so.)
Tomatsu inclined his head towards Fitsu.
Fitsu-san, I still cannot accept such a vaunted legacy of the Crane. I am a humble Lion and this artifact would surely give me too much insight into your style of warfare and, by association, your abilities at Go. How can we play against each other when I have such an advantage?
He turned to Naetaru and smiled. Please Doji-san, I do not ask for the gratitude of a Doji, just you personal gratitude will suffice. He smiled at the joke. In all frankness Doji-san, please accept it, I'm not much of a writer, so at least I will know it will go to good use in your care. I hope we can exchange correspondence in the future and that it will serve you well. As head of the Doji family, you will be a great ally to me personally.
He bowed to the Doji Damiyo and the Geisha behind him retrieved a small wooden box and handed it to Tomatsu. He took it and placed it before him and patted it with his hand. Now where is the Kakita Damiyo, I have not had a chance to exchange greetings and present her with her gift. It is a quite fitting one and one I am very proud to have thought up.
