1. It is not the battle between Dragon and Lion players. Please use "Hanteists" and "Toturists" or other accurate terms. Implying that all Dragon players contribute toward Fire Blossoms is wrong. 2. Aroru, you are wrong, Toturists lost 2/3 of their points due to action removal, while Hanteist lost only 1/7 (12700 of 18700 comparing to 6400 of 43100 points). 3. At the arrival, after deleting points, Hanteists started with 30,000 points of advantage. How one action of advantage for Toturists is going to balance that?
I cannot see how represented is lost of high risk Hanteists' gamble. First Toturists lost most of their points while Hanteists keep them, then amount of action is nearly equal. When defenders of CotSS were screwed, attackers had 5 actions against 2 and clean account. Now, when invaders are "screwed", they have 6 actions against 7 plus advantage in points from the beginning. I cannot see how this can work.

Maybe we didn't take the Castle, but we did put up impressive numbers - perhaps we breached the walls but are still facing stiff resistance? Perhaps if we did not put up quite so impressive numbers the battle would have unfolded differently?

(...) Implying that all Dragon players contribute toward Fire Blossoms is wrong... True, only the cool ones do it *puts on sunglasses* PS.: Sorry, couldn't resist this one, simply too tempting; PPS.: I don't see how this discussion will lead us anywhere good. Although I agree, as I've had before, that if CotSS's defenders lost votes because of action shifting it would be unfair (and that post made by Jay back then does seem to indicate that), there is absolutely no way to be sure until Jay shows us the final vote tally and there is no more use in speculating. I say this because if you guys lost those votes there is absolutely no way you will win, not even with direct divine intervention. And, since Jay have said that the battle is somewhat balanced now, I've started to doubt the vote detraction theory (especially because Jay never did such a thing before. At least not that I remember). As such, I would like to say that we all already know these arguments and at least most of us can sympathize with them (although, personally, I couldn't care less. The Spider got the short end of the stick in their battle at the wall and no one else raised a ruckus in their defense at the time). So, let us please refrain from just repeating ourselves for the sake of avoiding dozens of pages of fruitless discussion. Once the battle is over, we will know (I expect) everything for sure and then we will be able to properly argue over it (and since Jay hardly ever changes already established actions, I don't see the point of us going down the exact same road again). I must note that I'm not prohibiting anyone from continuing the discussion, I would just like to cordially ask that you guys only do so if there are new arguments to be presented (by that I mean ones that haven't already been tirelessly debated over dozens of pages in another threads). Otherwise, let us please move on to more productive topics. This is my final contribution to this matter and I will not post about this subject anymore, for any reason whatsoever, at least until the battle is over. Feel free to continue if any of you truly wish to and, if you do so, please keep things as cordial and civil as possible.

Listen. We have already had people express their desire to keep the "fair" talk out of this thread. There are definitely people who do not want to take part in it.
I'm goig to go ahead and say that the fairness discussion is finished in this thread. If you want to continue to discuss the numbers, and who has what advantage, etc... Take it to another thread in general discussion. If it continues in this thread, I will lock it.

In all due fairness, what about the fair-weather fans? Fair warning: I'm going to hit it on the fairway. Fair enough?

Question: Lion and Crane have signed truce. Some Cranes performed Winter Warfare mission before it. Will their points contribute to the total battle score?

If the Crane/Lion truce is enacted, the Lion attack on Kyuden Otomo will be canceled, but in return Crane players will be disallowed from performing actions that attack the Lion provinces (which will include both Castle of the Swift Sword and Crossroads Castle). Actions performed prior to a ceasefire would still count towards the totals. I'd think their actions in Winter Warfare would stand.

It would because, essentially, those events would have occurred before word got from Kyuden Seppun to CoTSS - it's over 400 miles, according to the map - and such messages would have to be received by courier; the Empire doesn't allow magic to be used for critical things - like legal proceedings and messages - because the right shugenja could make the kami say anything.

...In theory the timeline that Jay gave ends anytime between now and the end of march. We don't have anything more definite than that and it's assuming that Jay holds to the timeline he originally gave for this final portion of the battle.
